I will be there again but this time with my wife, daughter, son in law and GRANDDAUGHTER! My famous Bloody Marys (and Virgin Marys for those of us who don't imbibe) will be making an appearance again. Might even be available for those who need the hair of the dog in the morning.

You don't need a trailer. I've hauled my GS in my truck quite a few times. You're welcome to borrow my loading ramp...

John, Take a trailer! The bike-in-the-back-of-the-truck thing is a PITA. You are welcome to my trailer as well.

Gage dosen't ride?

Who's leaving @ what time? We took the day off Friday so early is good. I'm thinking 830, lunch in Calistoga, Stewarts point out to the coast and then north.................................

Just Wondering...

RCB has a camp out every year at the Manchester Beach KOA. Fri and Sat night. Dinner is provided each night for a very reasonable fee. Have to make your own reservation if you want a cabin. I believe they have the group camp reserved if you want to camp.

I think it's pretty open. I'll check and get back to ya...

Deano posted an idea for lunch in Calistoga, then take Stewart's Point over to the coast, and north from there.

Calistoga for lunch works for me, of course. But I'd like to also suggest 128 to Boonville, and Mountain View Rd over to 1.

Sounds good for us I like that route and since I will be taking the Truck.
IF anyone would like any of their gear hauled to and from Manchester let me know and drop the gear off with Ted at A&S (IF thats OK with Ted). I will pick the gear up Thursday after work. Or make contact me and drop the gear off at my place in Roseville.

Just to save everyone some confusion at Manchester Beach on 10/5/07, the $20 dollar per person visitor fee only covers the meals portion of the weekend, it does not cover the fees charged by the KOA for camping. Last year I believe that the tent site fee was $18.00 per day.

Are the tent sites big enough for a couple of tents so folks can share?

PHILBERT40
Sep 19th, 2007, 4:53 pm
Size does not matter...so they say. but in this case it is a camper fee not a site fee.

Manchester KOA

They put the BMW people out back there is a large space ( acres) and you pick a spot there are no boundries ( out side the moral ones) camp next to each other or leave lots of space I believe they charge per person ( may be wrong since I'm the only person I pay for) But they are nice people and try and make us comfortable.

sometimes they ( us) build larg fires and BS into the night - pick a spot away if you hit the sack early....

I did just check the Manchester KOA rate sheet - Group camping is listed as $9 per person per night.

So here's the plan. We are going to meet at Deano's place at 8:30am (36th&Vst) Ride 128 to the trail and pick up Tom. Then over to Occidental for lunch. After lunch we'll take Coleman Valley Rd out to Hwy 1 unless Tom wants to do a anther route...

Anything you want John to bring needs to be dropped off at my office by Thursday AM.

The Italian place on the east side of the street, can't remember the name. Not sure about the exact time. Say we leave Sacto at 9 and it takes 3-4 hours to Occidental depending on how many roses we stop to smell along the way...say 12-1pm...

IIRC Negri's is the name of the Italian joint in Occidental. Good food, tasty ravioli.

You have the TKC80's?? With 40lbs PSI they shouldn't be too squirely on the street. I've done some pretty aggresive riding with those things...

Meet us in Occidental or in the Napa Valley. We're going to be riding a pretty easy pace.

How about this: I could meet you all along 128, probably at 128 and the Trail. From there up to St. Helena and take Spring Mountain Road over into Sonoma Co. That meets up with Calistoga Road to Santa Rosa. Take 12 to Occidental Road to Occidental. The two big restaurants are the Union Hotel, and Negri’s. After lunch, as Ted suggested, Coleman Valley Rd. over to 1. North from there to Manchester.

John, Kay is driving as well, so she can carry our stuff. But thanks for the offer.

Hi Ted, Yup, TKC80's, used them on my RawHyde Adventure camp class last weekend, glad too on Saturday, rained all day, dumped the bike at least 5 times, got good and muddy and didn't break anything. Was great training, especially when it dried out some on Sunday. Did break a light on Monday during the single track trial ride, but the BMW foglight glued right back together, will see how it holds up during trip to Manchester Beach and beyond. Rode 5 to 153 to 1 to cambria, then 41/46? to 58 to 5 then on to castaic Friday to Castaic, was really bummed, great roads but couldn't carve like I like due to TKC's just felt wrong leaning past a certain point. Felt like the bike was sliding out from under me. Will try to push past this on way down to Manchester. Will discuss where to meet up later this week.

A change in my plans. I just received a call from Santa Rosa BWM, it was the antenna ring, and it has bee replaced. The GT is ready. However, I don’t really feel like making a special trip tomorrow (Thursday), when Kay and I will be going that direction on Friday anyway.

So, she and I will go over to the shop in Windsor Friday late morning, and just plan on seeing you guys in Occidental about noon. Negri’s?

I’ll see most of you here shortly at Sudwerk. We’ll figure it out then.
