It's only noon here in my part of the world (left coast) and the CRAZY DRIVERS are already on the road.

Not sure why - but it seems that Thanksgiving makes everyone leave their brain at home and substitute turkey meat instead... Had TWO near misses with some gobble-heads already - and I was just going out to get a sandwich down the street!

Ride safe - look out - and have a great holiday!

Edit: Sorry admins - posted in wrong area - move to "Chit Chat" if needed - I saw no way of doing it myself.

It's been my experience that the 'crazies' here on the left coast are out on the roads every day, but if you want to see the truly certifiable ones, try riding Hwys 14 and 395 from Mojave to Mamouth during ski season.

You're wrong...visit Jersey if you want to observe the WACKO's driving. I think it's a state law here.

Try riding in El Paso, TX everyday where 20% of the cars are from another city and country...Juarez, Mexico. Down there they play bumper cars 24/7. I defy you to find a car with Mexican plates here in El Paso that isn't beat up and that would pass inspection. It's scary wondering if the car behind you has brakes and if the car in front of you has brake lights.

When in El Paso I ride as if every car has great potential to hit me.

It is not much better in San Diego, with Tijuana next to us. If you are involved in an accident here, chances are high that it will be with an unlicensed, uninsured driver.

This morning, I-95, THE major north south route from New England to Florida, was CLOSED near Washington becasue a gasoline tanker caught fire. Traffic was a mess for hours. No one hurt, thankfully!

Very cold here and windy so no LT ridin' which, considering the morons out there, may be a good thing!

No no no! I have told you all before, the BAD drivers are in Chattanooga!

We had a lady who was driving drunk heading down 1-75 at the Georgia/Tennessee state line, took out one of those BIG light poles, the light pole fell onto the interstate, two big rigs hit the pole, they flipped over, sent the two boys to the hospital, she got a free ride to the jail and traffic was completely stopped for 10 hours at one of the busiest interchanges around!

Funny you should say that - I live about 50 miles from downtown Chicago. If I travel in during the morning commute it is about a two hour drive (I try to not go into the city - or take the train). I had a lunch meeting there today. I intentionally slept in. I left at 11:30a for a 1:00p meeting. Figured it would only take an hour - being off-commute and all that. No chance. I arrived at the meeting at 1:45p. Bummer.

But the ride down was interesting. Traffic on the interstate was pretty decent until I got to the near suburbs. Then stop and go. I blasted through the city, using the GPS to help me find this that or the other. Traffic in the city sucked. Stupid people turning left from the far right lane across four lanes of traffic - right in front of me. Probably six times. Some dumbass in a jeep merged into me without looking. I swerved, honked, and got outta the way. He gives me a dirty look. The same game is behind me a few minutes later. I see a red light. I stop - leaving an escape route as usual. He's hauling ass and can't stop. He's leaving rubber on the pavement. I haul ass outta the way. He would'a hit me. He gives me a look. I want to pull out the Glock and let him have it, but just look at him instead. He's on my ass for the next 10 blocks. He's being a prick. I cruise through a yellow light - he follows on my ass. I see the light ahead of me turn yellow. He's on my ass. I eyeball the intersection - it'll be kinda close. I blast through it. He's on my ass and gets tboned by some guy in a Ford. heh heh heh. I stop and look behind me and flip him off.

I get to the restaurant - I'm almost an hour late to meet a very hot woman I work with. The fucken' Indian guy behind the counter says to me when I walk in (and she's waving to me) - "Sir, sir, you've kept her waiting over an hour." I wanted to smack that guy back to New Dehli.

That was my afternoon. I did ride for about five hours today, though. It was awesome - despite the dipshits.

Lunch time always seems to bring out the traffic. I find the best times for getting on the road are 1000AM and 2PM. I used to live in the Chicago area, and still go back because family is there.

Has road construction finished for the year? The place was still torn up at the end of September.

Yes, traffic was terrible here in the middle of the country this afternoon too. Took us all of 15 minutes to get home from work after they let us out an hour early! Keep safe everyone over the holiday and don't become someone else's stuffing! :bmw:

Come to Vegas and dodge those suffering Casino Rage as the speed from casino to casino..Only good part is that they don't necessarily target two wheelers only..I see about one incident/accident a day as I go about my daily ride..

My dad just moved from that hell hole after 28 years! Said he got tired of the gangs, the drunks, the crazies, and all of the crime that goes with a city as Vegas.

I think all you guys took wrong turns and ended up in Louisiana and didn't know it, because you are describing driving here!:p

Happy Thanksgiving!

That kinda driving never changes in Vegas, smoothe wears me out to ride in that city. It would seem you have to be hyper aware and ride somewhere around 5 to 6 thou RPM to dodge and skat. It gets scary when happens in New Braunfels, TX.

I've been to a few places, but I have to agree with justincase (2nd reply). When we lived in NJ (4 yrs at MB, Earle, Colts Neck), I used to say "they don't drive in NJ, they aim!"

The truth is, we can find bad drivers anywhere, can't we?

Yesterday, while stopped in a line of traffic on a expressway exit ramp, a huge long bed truck with 3 happy amigos cant stop in time, heads for the grass valley to our right, takes out a couple of new Ford 150 trucks at a Ford dealership, goes air born and lands in the two lane road in front of us. Any guesses on whether they tried to get away. I went straight home and put up the GS.

Here is the reason.

On Thanksgiving, for every three cars you see out on the highway two of them are following the third one to a house they have never been to.
