View Full Version : Insurance in NJ with Personal Injury Protection?

This question is mainly for residents of NJ (or vicinity) - as you know, insurance regulations can vary vastly between the states.

Does your motorcycle insurance include the Personal Injury Protection option? If so, who do you use? Otherwise, how do you protect yourself against cost of your injuries?

At this point in my life, I am much less concerned with liability (so what if I bend your fender?) than the conceivably catastrophic cost of medical treatment in the US.

I just found out - by the unfortunate example of an acquaintance - that my Blue Cross/Shield medical insurance will not cover injuries sustained while motorcycling.

For my motorcycles I carry liability and collision insurance by Rider, which does not offer a PIP option. How do you guys handle this problem (besides hoping for the best...)?

Tnx,

I am trying to refresh this thread in case any NJ members of this forum missed it when it was on the first page.

I received some responses to my thread "Does your insurance cover medical expenses?" on Bike talk forum, but so far nothing that would help me in my location.

Anyone with NJ-based motorcycle insurance? Do you have PIP coverage?
