Whereabouts of red LT with failed FD

Riding back from CCR on I-40 in TX last Saturday evening we saw a canyon red LT on the side of the road.
We turned around and talked with the rider who seemed to have thing under control and waiting for AAA.
He was headed for San Francisco.
Does anyone know who the rider was and if he made it home OK?

I believe that's going to be Ralph Gray. He had his LT towed to OKC where I put my spare drive on it Sunday AM. He was back on the road by 10:30 AM..

It was with some sadness I saw you first ride past me out there on the Oklahoma/Texas border, then with relief when you came cruising back down the frontage road (Route 66?).

Thanks for the apple...I needed it. I was on the phone sorry and didn't give you all much attention, but hey, many many thanks for stopping guys and gals. Your stopping by was a boost to me for what was ahead. Much better than the cop who just looked at me and cruised on by.

John Spencer worked his magic (what a champ), ably orchestrated by Joel Gringorten who now lives in Kingman, AZ but was formerly of San Jose.

The other thing you may have noticed was that the phone was actually working!. I have Cingular, they of the worst coverage in the country and there I was, 40 miles form the nearest town of any note (Elk City...are there elk on the Oklahoma/Texas border?) and I had all bars up on my mobile....it was a miracle! You would have certainly played a bigger part in what proceeded if that phone hadn't been up and going.

Things got so much better I even took a side ride with Joel thru Sedona and Red Rock country :-).

Thanks again for stopping and next time I'll be more attentive when you stop by to "visit".

Glad things worked out for you. We felt weird leaving you on the side of the road, but you seemed to have things under control.
I am surprised the cop didn't stop while seeing you off your bike... Isn't your safety part of his/her duty?:confused:
