The Flower Mound Police Association in coordination with Texas Harley Davidson Bedford, TX is hosting a motorcycle charity ride for the injured officer September 8, 2007. Registration begins at 0900. There will be live entertainment, food, prizes and Craig Ludwig from the Dallas Stars. Please see attached flyer and contact Brit Liles 214-208-3247 for any questions. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us get the word out.
I'll start a list of BMWLT attendees in the first reply to this thread. I hope to see your name added soon.
(and please, let's not have any BS about the ride starting at a H-D dealership folks, ok? Remember the it is the purpose, not the place, that matters)

Tony, I'd be there if I didn't already have a commitment. Blessings for a successful run.

It will be good to see you guys again. Ring me up during the week and we can coordinate the details. My thought is that we could meet up with Dean and the other folks at the FD.

Hey Tony, I think I saw your bike on this news this morning. There was some footage of this ride. Your bike is famous!

The cameraman cam by several times, and we kept turning our backs. I guess it's a cop thing, prefer not to be on TV if we can help it. The easiest way to avoid being misquoted by a reporter is to avoid them! :histerica

I'll be selling autographs at the RTE. All proceeds will be given to the family of Flower Mound Police Officer Kevin Schmidt. There were about 500 bikes at the ride today, and at $20 per person suggested donation, a lot of good was done today for one of our brethren.
Kevin is out of the hospital. At the accident scene, they had the intersection closed except to our procession. They had a fire truck on each side of the six lane roadway with their ladders extended up, with an American flag hung between the tops of the two ladders like a gateway for us to pass through. There was an ambulance there, and I am told Kevin was in the back so he could see the show of support as we rode by. All in all, it was a pretty amazing day, and a great way to end a pretty amazing week.
Oh yeah, and my bike was on the morning news!
