Caity and I left Tan-Tar-A at 0645 Saturday, with Brian Hubbard (from CT) riding along.
A few miles down the road from TTA it was down to 53 degrees. We changed jackets after our breakfast stop -- no mesh required until lunch time!
It was fun seeing other LTs on the road yesterday morning; we saw some on the road, and a couple being towed, all apparently heading home.
We were stopped for gas, maybe 2-3 few hours into the trip, when in rolled Cleveland's own Paul Mitchell. We left the gas station well before him but he caught up and passed us a ways down the road. We also saw Coralee Shearer (Oxford, OH) in her car on the way home. We pulled alongside and flipped up our helmets so she could see who it was.
We saw 4 state troopers in IL (right after the MO state line) in a one-mile stretch of road. Those boys are serious about speeding in their own state, and only exceeded by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. I think we saw a dozen or more along various stretches of I-70 in the west half of the state.
Brian was great to ride with. We had similar riding styles (please, no jokes  ), riding speed (very important!) and rest break requirements. He even let Caity ride his LT for awhile.
We dropped Brian off at a hotel on the far east side of Columbus, OH around 1930, and got home 45 minutes later. The final pic is one of me on our LT w/Uni-go trailer.
Thanks to the CCR Board of Directors, the volunteers, the vendors, and the attendees for making this a great event. We met some old friends and made several new ones.
