I will be moving to Sequim, WA area soon and am wondering about how the riding on the Olympic Peninsula will compare with riding in North Georgia. Certainly there will be fewer days to ride. Now its 365 +or- a few days. Maybe an LT is not the best choice. F650 maybe? KLR 650 maybe?

The driveway for our new home is quite steep and has a few turns. That's not the problem - I am more worried about moisture at ground level being closer to solid than liquid state and not being able to recognize it. I am already member of the LT Down Club and don't needmore service stripes.

It appears that there have to be some awesome roads available. This past weekend we drove up to Hurricaine Ridge and noticed just a few bikes. I would have expected a parking lot full of them. (There were lots of cruiser type bikes in Port Angeles however.)

Welcome to the Great Pacific Northwest! You will be living in what we call the "banana belt. It has a very moderate temperature. Snow level is minimal at best. In the winter there may be some ice in shady areas. Pretty much you should be able to ride most of the year in that area.

About the driveway? You may need to get the "suv" of motorcycles to handle that (GS of some flavor). Good luck in your new digs.

Be blessed!!

That's a pretty part of the peninsula you are moving to. I heard the city actually passed a city ord that rain is prohibited! They stay pretty dry up there from what I know of the area.

Hurricane Ridge is in your backyard and that's alway a nice ride to the top. The rest of the peninsula is great too! What's bring you up here to the area?

Retiring from full time employment and to be nearer to my grandson are the main reasons for moving. Thanks for asking. The southeast is a great place to live and we have enjoyed it since 1972. We want to change our venue.
