Well, last year I put out this query and received some good ideas. Tried a few of 'em too.
But, it is starting to get cold now and with the Holidays....a fire...cozy nights with my bride...and being worn out from keeping the grandbabies...
What ELSE would be better than a little contemplating with a single malt or whatever. I need some ideas...
So, what is YOUR favorite spirit for the Holidays???

Mightknotta speeled it write - it's akin to Bailey's Irish Creme, only smoother and without the licorice taste.

We make apple brandy and put it in coffee or tea. Tates really great...much better than it sounds. We also like Harvey's Bristol Creme this time of year! Or any time for that matter!

To celebrate my Bday I opened a Torres Gran Reserva 1999 (Tempranillo grape) to have with my dinner and I think I'm gonna try to find some more (doubtful as the bottles are numbered and they did not cork too many) or ask one of my brothers in Spain to fetch some and send it.
But that is for tapas and dinning only. I guess a "lowly" 20 year old Glenlivet would have to suffice for now until I can go "hunting" for something else...
What do you think?

Find someone that belongs to this organization if you want something remarkable.

We were in PEI for a few weeks, last year, and got involved with the Scotch Club of Charlottetown but I can't find my notes. I learned very quickly every ones taste vary greatly. We could write down the same thing about the taste of a scotch in a blind test but what I liked and what some others liked was really different.
Hopefully you live someplace where they have a decent selection. The liquor stores here in Alabama have a very limited selection. Time to hook up the home and move.
Good luck,
Rick

Yep. Not a bad drop that. Pretty rare now days i have a Rum, used to alot in my early twenties, but not so much any more. now days i prefer a Vodka or a bottle of Wine.

Like last time.
IF you can find it, Lagavulin Islay, >20y, Pedro Xeminez sherry cask, my all time favourite!
Ask Joel, he bought such a bottle in the silent auction.
Cheers!

Lagavulin is Good, but, if, like me,- you like peaty, smokey, Islay malts, try Laphroig 'Distillery Strength' you can sip it, run your bike off it, scare off trolls, demons & werewolfs with it (etc. etc) - it also clears oily patches off driveways and will strip paint. If you can imagine smooooooth with good taste and a frontal labotamy, you're getting close!!
I'm sure we could set up a little export business to the States if you can't get it over there. BTW, every time you buy a bottle, you get a genuine, titled square foot of land in the highlands.
