John Preston answered my request for some photos and also sent the installation instructions. I have put them up on my server.

Hope this helps answer some questions. I do not have any updates on delivery dates other than my order was out 4 weeks last week. :)

Yea John Preston and the whole bunch at Bushtec are great folks. As far as lead time on your trailer ....Mine took 10 weeks with out the color match paint. That would have pushed it out another 2 weeks they said. But it was worth the wait. :yeah:

How easy is that hitch to remove when not being used? I'd like to consider a trailer some day for longer trips or camping with my wife. I can only get her to pack so light, before she's unhappy that something got left behind.

I need to clarify the above post that this was just information an the Bushtec hitch for the R1200RT. As I have yet to see one, I can offer no thoughts on the ability to regularly add and remove the hitch on the BMW. Based upon my Bushtec hitches on my Harley FLH framed bikes and the Goldwing, once they were installed, I would not plan on removing them on a regular basis. :)

Also, as far as a trailer is concerned, I would lean towards towing my Tailwind because the shock absorber on the trailer tongue would help reduce shock loads on the BMW system, even though the BMW has a steel frame. I am looking forward to seeing how side loads are handled by this frame.

If one reviews the BMW owner manual, we see admonishment against trailers and I would presume that might have an impact on ANY warranty claims.
