Yeah, and it's really hard for me to look worse than I usually do. :histerica
That guy is so paranoid that when I took off for the funeral of a good friend, he accused me of going to a chief's training program in California for three days. Even after I proved that I was not there, that my friend really died, and that I was really at the funeral, etc, he still did not change his mind about what he knew the "truth" was. That's OK, karma is a real bitch to guys like him! :)
I was really looking forward to CCR, and I'm kinda bummed out. I am grateful, however, that I was given the opportunity to do some work on the front end to help raise some money for a worthy cause. Y'all buy lots of shirts and caps, ya hear?
Safe travels my friend. I guess you'll just have to twist a few of those curves and bend a few elbows for me afterwards. I'll see you all when you get back and you can tell me all about it. :)

Just got back from dinner there. Place seats 76. Just the 4 of us and table of 2. Quiet.
Daughter and niece had the extra small sirloin. $10.50
About 6" x 8" and 7/8"thk.
Neither managed to finish half.
Kathy had small CFS,$6.50,ate half, took rest home.
I had the small hamburger steak,$6.50,about 8 oz, and half the order of chicken fried bacon and half the fried jalapeno strips. Sirloin was good.
Steaks ranged from $10.50 to $19.
Kathy said y'all wouldn't like it because y'all are too sophisticated.
Keep in mind she has only met Edgar.
Waitress was excited to hear that group might come on a Sat. afternoon.
Said that it didn't matter about A&M football game as it never got busy until after 5.
Gina, never occurred to me to check on PIE. My diet was so ruined by the CFB and I am still full 3 hours later.

Could be devestating if we got there and there wasn't any PIE (makes me tremble just thinking about it.) Ask Lonewuff what happend at the Pizza Shack in Montgomery, he will tell you what a pain in the rump I can be when I hear the words "NO pie on the menu!!"

I stopped by there on the way back from East Texas today. I called Dick to see if anyone was stopping by on the way back and he suggested I check and see if they can handle a rowdy crew. They say no problem. 11:30 is fine - 11:00 would be better.
Steve, bring the trailer! You're gonna need it to haul back the leftovers!
That chicken fried bacon ain't too bad. Cheeseburger was pretty darn good too!

Sheesh, this must be Chicken Fried Anythang month!! I dropped in to Po-Po's Family Restaurant and picked up two orders of Chicken Fried Chicken Livers and a coupla sides for our lunch back at the casa today. They wuz just as good this time as they wuz back when we first moved to Boerne in the '90s.
BTW - wuz talkin' to my neighbor (caterer/restauranteur with cafe in Breckenridge, CO and the Welfare General Store in Welfare, Tejas, plus caters an ocassional Wash, D.C. affair) today about Sodalak's up in Snook, and their Chicken Fried Bacon. Turns out Jason has been serving Chicken Fried Bacon at the General Store for quite awhile now. Think I'll pay him a visit some day and check it out!! :thumb:
And thanks for checking with the folks at Sodalak's, Doug. Makes it easier to plan arrival times when the owner/manager gives a hint as to his normal Satiday crowd.

danOnly a couple? Whatever will the PP do? Is there a convenience store nearby? I need to buy some Bluebell. There's a leetle wager with pie, ice cream and a STEEK. We'll prolly have to find a clean steek, maybe even a dowel, you know how a Princess can be. Yeah, that's the ticket, I'll bring a dowel, technically, it's a STEEK. Katnappin,
Looks like it is about a 1.5 hour run to Snook, so what ever time we are meeting in Snook we should be at Lone Star about 2 hours prior  Any thoughts?
Bones,
I was going to call tomorrow morning and see what I needed to do to get it done and I will let you know. Main reason we are going is to get my wife a riding suit so even if they can't do it we'll still be there (as of this note anyway ;) )

Due to this little problem with my neck it looks like I am going to have to cage it to the RTE Saturday, so will not be going by Lone Star unless something drastic changes or my wife still wants to go ahead and get a riding suit, which I probably won't know until last minute and we would still be caging it. But we will be in Snook even if we have to ride on a "STEEK" to get there.

Hey Bones,
That would be a ways out of your way to come all the way to Austin then head back to Snook. I wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't for the better half needing a ride suit (and if getting her a ride suit will get her to ride I will do it a dozen times over :D ). I plan on arriving there around 9:00 AM. Figure she will need a good 45 min to shop (or I will anyway ;) ) then head back east.
