I rented an LT in Phoenix for a 10-day trip around the 4-state area. Sadly, the dealer couldn't get it started when I arrived (defective battery) and I had to take a late-model Gold Wing instead. All I can say is, my choice of motorcycle has been radically confirmed. I apologize to GW fans, but in my opinion it didn't even come close to measuring up to the LT in quality, comfort, stability, or cornering. Also, it got a dismal 33 mpg over the course of 1800 miles ???? I'm getting over 50 mpg on the LT and it's not even broken in yet. In defense of the GW, I did like the low first gear ratio (great for in town and traffic) and the low COG made slow-speed manuevers quite easy. There was a noticeable buffeting above 60 mph and the low fairing provided little protection for my 6 ft frame. My wife complained of sore knees due to peg placement for the passenger. It was a great trip but we really missed our LT.
