I've been searching the threads for info on the ABS brake fluid bleeding and/or replacement procedures. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, I'm at that crossroads of confusion and despair. Mark Neblett wrote on 6/15/04 a good paper about bleeding systems on '02 and later. My '05 doesn't have the dual reservoir that the earlier ABS systems have. Brings me to a bunch of questions.
Do I give up and take it to the dealer, now that I've bled the fluid out of the rear brake and haven't figured out how to get fluid back in? Yes, I read Marks paper after trying to bleed these like normal.
Is the '05 system enough the same as the '02 to '04 models that if I find all the parts I can still do this?
Clymer makes a manual they advertise as good for '98 to '05, will this have the '05 brake system accurately displayed?
While I'm on the Clymer, how about the electrical diagrams? The '05 is different than previous here too.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Dell,

Don't fret. Try this out for more info.

My 05 Addendum (http://www.bmwlt.com/files/displayimage.php?pos=-52)

Fill the rear reservoir (article will show where it is) then hook a length of tubing on the rear caliper and feed it back up to the reservoir. Let the pump run for a bit until the bubbles are gone and you will be good to go.

I can't comment on the Clymer as I have not bought one yet, But I do have all the factory stuff for 99 on up.

ya came to the right place.

Basically, ya have 2 circuits one control, one power... for each "brake".. one bow, one stern....

There is a set of "bleeders" for the "control" on the rear of the ABS unit (ABS unit on the Port(left) side of bike). I can detail which ones and the sequence when I look it up.

Sorry it's a bit late.. I'll get the details... bottom line.. you can do it ... there are folks in your area who can elaborate if not assist...

Guys,
You really saved me on this project. Thanks to the addendum and added pictures I finished the brake flush, put it back on the road and runs great. Again, thanks for the help.

I really noticed that even though the clutch and brake fluid were the same age, the brake fluid was a lot more degraded. Those servos must really work that fluid.
