or are the radio instructions lost in a German translation or something. The previous owner has stations pre set that I don't listen to. Would like to change them to mine, besides pulling the battery to reset everything how the heck do I change a frequency...

Should be a separate radio booklet with the owner's manuals.

That manual is a hard one to get right. I have tried and it is hit and miss. Just select MAN button find a station them use the volume. At least that way you can have 2 FM and one AM station programed in until you get it figured out.
Yes there is a audio manual by itself.

Let's see if I can paraphrase.
On the radio console press FM to toggle Auto Seek (AS) off.
Press MAN.
On the thumb control press left or right to tune to a station you want.
Press MAN to settle on the station.
Press MEM. The display will flash MEMORY.
On the thumb control press left or right select a pre-set number of 1-6.
The display will flash with the pre-set number and the old freq. setting. Ignore that.
Press MEM again and watch the display change to the new freq.
Enjoy! :)
