My daughter, a sophmore in college, is taking photography this semester and is required to a have a totally manual 35 mm. Her regular camera is a Nikon D50. Anyone have an old manual model sitting around they might sell at a reasonable price?

Hi Jeff,
Actually, I have three Nikon Nikkormats that I used extensively in the 70s and 80s. One with a 35mm lens is probably worth around $75 bucks.
But, just for grins, I went to ebay... Look HERE! (http://search.ebay.com/Nikon-Nikkormat_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40)
Depending on what she really wants and needs, I suspect you could do better online!

I'll put my old Minolta SRT101 (http://www.photoethnography.com/ClassicCameras/index-frameset.html?MinoltaSRT101.html~mainFrame) in the silent auction, and you can bid on it. I bought it new when I was in high school. Only one thing wrong, as the black tip is missing from the winder arm. I'll throw in the "extra" lenses, too. I'd love to see it in the hands of an enthusiast.

Hey Rev,
What a win, win, win idea. I forwarded the link to SaraJane to get the approval from her now if I can just get Gilda to put it in a back corner so I don't have to give an arm and a leg to Camp David for the camera. I need to have some Konig left over for all the other gems in the silent auction :D
BTW she attends college in downtown Charleston SC and between her photographs and charcoals of the many historical sites and unique architecture she has just amazed her mom and I. She is a gifted violinist/fiddler so she never got to take art while in high school and we never had any idea what many gifts she actually has. Maybe next year I can get her to frame something and bring it for the silent auction in Toadsuck.

Look on E bay for an Olympus OM-1... a VERY nice, fully manual camera with a "bulb" setting for taknig pictures in complete darkness....for lightening shots, fireworks, etc. Some can be found for less than $50 with a 35mm lens

You can get a VERY professional type Nikon or Canon for a few hundred dollars these days with a lens on ebay, craigslist or even your local camera store.

I will give you my old Konica auto reflex with 2 extra lenses for the shipping costs. I went on e-bay several months ago and found it is in the category of $50.00. It is the model T-3. Give me PM if you are interested.

I shot with a Cannon AE1 Program. It served me really well. I cannot remember if it is still laying around or not. I will check for you.
