My 2000 LT just passed the 36,000 mile mark as we returned from a great ride around th central Oregon Cascades. Looking in the maintenance schedule it says "replace chain tensioning rail lining and chain guide rail". I think, Holy Crap!! This sounds like a major PITA because I've seen where the timing chain resides. But, WHEWWW, dshealy's post says that this maintenance operation is totally unnecessary! How much is info like this worth? Priceless. Support this site, it will save you in so many ways.
Happy Trails,

Uh, to wax over onto the crude side a bit.
If dshealy told me to piss up a rope cuz it'd make my LT happy...
I'd do it.

Dangnebbit, Tate, when you put a conditional IF in a sentence like that, please make it noticable to those of us who are dyslexic. I missed it. Now I gotta wait for the rope to dry out some, but I better get it down and get the garage cleaned up a bit before the boss comes home . . .
