For those that are in the DFW area I suggest you take a look and better yet, a test ride. You just might be pleasantly surprised; or not.

We're doing pretty darn well, thanks. Tell us how the ride goes. I looked at the site, but think I'll pass.

Well, I took one of the Victory Vision demo rides this past weekend in Arlington. Holy cow.

It has all the upgrades and features that I love about the K1200LT, plus a few extras (iPod Nano connector, not just MP3 connector). Those floorboards are insane. There must be a thousand foot positions for the driver, and a few hundred for the passenger. Pretty cool. Also, the tour version can be converted to the street version (without the tour Pack) with just 6 bolts. If that is true, then that is a pretty cool thing.

The look of the bike is awesome in person, but of course, that is going to be a completely subjective and personal thing. The thing I love about the K1200LT is that it gets second glances. Well, the Vision gets second and third glances!

My wife rode with me. She says that the seat is roomier and more comfortable than our seat, both wider and deeper. The initial vibration of the engine tickled, and she said that she would have hated that if it was like that the whole time. However, once we started the ride, the vibration was gone. Overall, she loved the bike.

It definitely lacks the power of the K1200LT. That sixth gear makes highway riding very comfortable. On the highway, the side mirrors are almost useless until you get to sixth gear, though.

Because of how low it sits, it is a ridiculously easy bike to ride, compared to the K1200LT. My wife felt comfortable on the bike, and she wants to take a test drive on her own when they start showing up at the dealer. It was awesome slinging that puppy around the parking lot without fear of dropping it.

Because the Arlington Motor Cops guiding us kept things so tight, I did not get a chance to really play with the throttle too much. There is no way that it would keep up with a K1200LT, but I think it would outrun an Ultra Classic. I am not a huge speed junkie, but it is sort of fun pulling away from my Ultra Classic buddies. Of course, the leaves the Gold Wing guys to deal with.

Frankly, I did not notice the heat from the engine. Of course, my other bike is a Harley Springer, so maybe I have heat calluses on my legs or something. ;)

Net-Net. It was a darn-fun bike to ride. I really do want to take one on a linger ride later on.
