I'd be interested in members' takes on the Utopia backrest against the Bakup backrest; e.g., comfort, adjustability, "bulk", etc. I'm thinking Utopia offers a lot for considerably less than Bakup, but then it might be worth the extra to go Bakup. It'll be on a Rick Mayer saddle. Thanks!!!

:o It would seem I am one of the few on the board that went the Utopia route.
The backrest itself is a fine item with all the cool features of adjustablity and being able to fold forward for the pillion to get onboard.

 The install of the bracketry is a nitemare !! and makes you partially take apart the pillion seat. Once installed, your passenger will also loose some "crotch" space because of the install coming out the front of their seat.

If I were too do it again :yeah: The Bakup would be the route to go, It works with Any if not Most of the factory / Aftermarket seats, while have full adjustablity for your comfort, and Does Not take away from pillion seat clearance.

Being a Tite Ass while having a Love for fabrication, I came up with this after installing a Corbin saddle & having the wife unhappy with the lack of crotch space with the Utopia bracketry.

A Utopia / Corbin combo .... Sweet !

That is a sweet setup! Thanks for the info. If I go Utopia, they'll ship it w/o cover to Rick Mayer where he'll cover it as well as the passenger pillion after he installs the backrest hardware in the pillion. Would save money on the backrest and end up with a leather cover. Since I only date thin chicks, I don't think losing a little crotch space is too big a deal. ;)
