Wish I had time enough to do just some of that. Maybe when I retire.

Absolutely very creative and artistic. If he is playing the music along with the lights, then I hope he does not have any near neighbors.

That was really cool, but how in the world did he put that together? Even if the music isn't playing....how do you get the lights to be timed like that?

Awesome and thanks for posting!

The song is called 'Wizards in Winter' by 'Trans Siberian Orchestra' for anyone wanting to know.

And a quote from another site: (from Australia)

"I have been using a computer to drive my sound and light show since 2000. In america, it's huge. There are whole companies dedicated to computerised christmas lights.
Check out www.planetchristmas.com if you're really interested. Otherwise come see my house at christmas. I've used Trans-Siberian orchestra stuff before. It's a bit heavy for the neighbours, but fantastic for syncing. If you're interested, it takes about an hour to program a minute of music (I have 72 digital channels). "

He's probably gonna need a new 'lectric meter, look's like the one he's got will be wore out in no time!

Ain't Midi Great!
I don't think it's MIDI . . . but I could be wrong. (Although that is one way to do it.)

Mark, I assume you're using MIDI . . . Yes?

With even Cakewalk I think you could program the midi fairly easily..
You could drop it right in with the music tracks...It would only take a month or so...<g>

Although it would take a butt-load of midi light controllers.

you could cut and paste most of the repetitive stuff...

Yeah, Midi I think....

The quote was lifted from an australian user group that I stumbled across while trying to find out how the dude did the light show.

Oops! Sorry. I understood that the video wasn't yours, but I thought I read where you had a little setup all of your own. My bad.

There are several other sites that have this posted. Google "Best Christmas Light Display" ,and you will find numerous other mirror sites. Download it to yoru hard drive, and try to play it from there.
