This morning, I did a backroads ride through Ventura County to Santa Barbara on the new RT with a riders club (dealer sponsored - all brands). While I didn't have much complaint with the saddle, I did get hot spots adjacent to the saddle on the inside of my thighs. I was home by noon to take pics of my FJR in preparation for selling and then headed back out again for a run through the Santa Monica Mtns and back home via Pacific Coast Hwy. Yes, but this time I added the product pictured which I bought four years ago for the Yammie. It's called a solo "universal" pad, but wouldn't you agree it looks tailor made for the RT? Quite a bit more comfortable than vinyl too! :)

Jeff,
Are the fires out?
I lived in SB in the '60's and one fire burned for over 6 weeks.

Fires in S.B. County are most definitely not out. Last weekend, I rode the FJR to Santa Maria to look at a private party used 2006 RT and planned to take Hwy 154 / San Marcos Pass. It was closed, however, so instead I took the longer route through the Gaviota Pass. Today approaching Santa Barbara, it looked like a new fire had developed in the inland maountains behind S.B. Now, it appears it's the same Zaca fire spreading it's boundary southward into Ventura County.

I was on PCH southbound around 4:30 - 4:45 and waved at either a silver RT or GT just south of Neptune's Restaurant and he waved back - was that you??

Hi Ted,
YES! That was me on my new RT! It seems you too were getting a little "fresh air" out on PCH late this afternoon?

Hello again, Jeff!
Yes - just down to Malibu and back. I was looking for CHP hiding amidst the parked cars and didn't see you were a BMW until we were close, which is why I didn't get a good look at if you were an RT or GT.
Cool!! It's funny, because you have never mentioned the color - and when I saw you I thought it might be you but then figured what are the chances of that!

For those not familar with Ventura County, "Spanish Hills" is a high-rent district of Camarillo, where homes have big rooms with a view! ;)
