Thanks Gentlemen. I had only seen a couple of pics on CL before going out to look at it. I fully expected something to be wrong w/ it but it's damn near perfect.

Might go look at a Paso 750 Sport-Touring tomorrow. http://stockton.craigslist.org/mcy/556244790.html
Owner says it has not run in 8 months and wo'nt start (probably bad gas), was starting it every couple months prior but he has not ridden it in 2 years due to a back injury that is not going to let him ride anymore so he is selling.

Any idea what it is worth? Know anyone who might be interested so I do'nt buy it?

Kelly Blue Book has it for more than he's asking, but it assumes a running bike in good condition. Offer him $1600 and see if he takes it. If you spend a grand getting it cleaned up and running you're still under retail.

Offer him $1,500, I bet he would take it. I'll go look at it first, and offer him $1,000. :D

Good project bike, nice guy.
Bike is all there but needs complete redo. Would probably start and be rideable with fuel system flush and carb rebuild.
Then replace seals/ hoses/ bearings /tires for realiability.
Has been repainted but could use touch up or another coat.
More effort than I have time or skill for.
Came home with my cash still in hand, wife was happy.

Doug, GOOD CALL!

The 750 Paso as pretty as it was, was a POS!
Car carburetor, 16" wheels, little shitty brakes, weak front end. The second version, the 906, got the bigger motor and better carbs, but the same crappy brakes and 16" wheels

If you really want a Paso to ride, look for the 92' 907 or some were registered as 93's. The later model, the one I have, has fuel injection that works well, and the whole front and rear end from the 851 superbike( 17" wheels and AWESOME brakes). The only problem, although mine has been fixed w/ an aftermarket unit, is the voltage regulator.
I added the Corbin seat and made some 3/4" bar risers to make it a little more roomy.

I really love the old thing, it's not really "fast" like a 916 or 998, but it is smooth and you can ride it all day.

Did I mention the SEXIEST F-ING bike ever built!! If you really want one, come and ride mine before you buy.

Ciao, Dino
