Greetings one and all. Just joined this forum after riding my 02 R1150RS for five years and trading it in on a demo 06 R1200RT. I've had it for a week and am loving every mile. looks as though you have a pretty nice community here. At this point, the only question I have is how can I get another hour in the day and another day in the week to do some more riding?

Take care,
Chris

Chris, it seems to me that you have another major problem - should you head northeast to the Poconos or northwest to the Alleghenies? I've been enjoying many of the PA roads on my RT and they are great!

My solution to your original problem has been to become and old fart and retire - but you may have to wait awhile.

Welcome - I know you'll love your RT

Congratulations on the new bike. I head off tomorrow to give the dealer a check on an '07 silver R1200RT. More will be revealed after the stuff comes in and is installed. Before it comes home, I have to sell a few other bikes to make room.

Good Luck! :)

Ah, that's the beauty of your dilemma. People can't decide whether to go west or east and that leaves the whole central area for the rest of us. Check out the latest Road Touring magazine. They have a Shamrock Tour (Four Loops) starting from Harrisburg, PA. It might give you an idea of what central PA has to offer. On the other hand, if you are still debating between east and west, take Route 6 and connect the two.

Take care,
Chris

I rode bicycles all throughout central PA when I lived there for a short time 6 years ago. The roads are so winding, that I had to carry a map for the first 6 weeks I lived there just to keep from getting lost on even a short 15-20 mile bicycle ride.

I think there are more covered bridges in central PA than anywhere else in the US.
