A buddy of mine shot this yesterday on Lime Creek Rd, which is one of my top five roads in Texas. He mounted the camera down low, which gives a unique view.

It's a twisty little road (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=volente+beach,+austin,+tx&ie=UTF8&ll=30.466874,-97.899942&spn=0.050824,0.059996&z=14&om=1) for sure. It has taken its toll on riders, too. One guy died when another rider crossed the line on one of the hair pins. A buddy of mine hit some gravel in a hair pin, bounced off an oncoming Jeep Cherokee, and landed on his elbow. Messed it up real good. Take care out there!

At the time I bought ole Toad from Lone Star, Peter and Robert (co-owners) and Stoney (only salesman at the time) got real serious anytime I mentioned Lime Creek. It wuz like - "you WILL NOT ride that road" 'til you git some experience just riding. Took about a year before they finally realized that I listened to 'em and never rode it. Still haven't, even tho I've practiced a lot on the roads up in north AR (Mt. Nebo - AR 62, 16 etc). One of these dayz, I'll find out why Lime Creek is taboo when mentioned at L.S.!!

I ride the sisters every so ofter, love them all. But my favorite road, and I have to ride it every so often just to get home, is PR 37 from Hwy 16 to 1283, just nine miles but a great nine. Oneathese days I gotta slow down long enough to count the curves! Catch it when there is no traffic and then watch your butt...it will sneak up and getcha! Guess I need to try Lime Creek to compare it.

PR37 IS a great road. I can't believe you're telling everyone. Parts of 16 are fun, too. Those sweepers!

Lime Creek Road's about 10 miles south of me and isn't too bad to ride on a bike, if you really slow for the corners where the visibility to oncoming traffic is nill.
Before I knew better after moving here, I trailed my 20 foot boat behind my Explorer and used Lime Creek as a shortcut to get to the Marina in Lakeway for service. Now that was one white-knuckled "ride" that I'll never do again.
