Thanks to ErnieA and John (Alaska Fish) for all their help with the tech session and 12K service on the Golden Dragon last weekend. And we can't forget Pauline who fixed an excellent soup and pizza for lunch that day. I know we had some set backs due to the fact that the Dragon is a Trike and this required modifying the usual procedures but I learn so much about the LT. I won't hesitate to tear into her next time she needs service. Thanks John for fixing all the loose wiring for the LED's. Special thanks to Ernie who seem to have every tool, nut, bolt, and washer we needed. I owe you big time. I really need to get one of those handy lifts. I would need to add some special extensions for the trike but it was great not having to lay down on the floor to do the service. Thanks again to all who helped. By the way Ernie, your dad was a hoot!! Glad he was there.

Thanks to ErnieA and John (Alaska Fish) for all their help with the tech session and 12K service on the Golden Dragon last weekend.

It was, and is, our pleasure to help our friends become more aquainted with their machines. It was a ton of fun getting to know your LT Trike.

And we can't forget Pauline who fixed an excellent soup and pizza for lunch that day.

Pauline had a great time as well. She was glad to see Doris too. Thanks for making that happen for her to join you.

I know we had some set backs due to the fact that the Dragon is a Trike and this required modifying the usual procedures but I learn so much about the LT. I won't hesitate to tear into her next time she needs service.

Sometimes it's just that way. ;-)

John is a wonderful resource and always eager to dig in to help. I want to thank him too for being so willing to help. I also like to keep enough parts on hand to be helpful to anyone on the list when they are in a pinch.

I really need to get one of those handy lifts. I would need to add some special extensions for the trike but it was great not having to lay down on the floor to do the service.

The lift is the way to go. When you pencil it out the lift pays for itself in 2 to 3 years time when you do most of your own work. It is a solid investment. Modifying would not be so hard to do. If you decide to do it I figured out an simple way to do it and would pass it on.

Thanks again to all who helped. By the way Ernie, your dad was a hoot!! Glad he was there.

You are most welcome, as are anyone on this list that want to learn to work on their own machine. Glad to help. BTW, Dad had a wonderful time, however he really thinks that I should charge some $$. He's old school you see.;)

You're welcome Randi! Everything Ernie said and more. Always a friendly place to work and hopefully help others learn the things about the LT that we have been shown by other folks, or learned the hard way!

And I think we should all be Thankful for Ernie's Dad being on the ball when we went to take the Dragon off the lift: "Move the board!" He was our Quality Control oversight. I guess this means I'm not the only Supervisor now!

And I'm guessing you never heard me snoring while I was lying down and pretending to work on the wiring under the floorboards eh Randi? Good deal!

Starfighter,
We should get together and talk about a procedure for changing the differential oil. I know others would be interested in the additional procedures required to do the 12K check especially on a trike with floorboards. I'm looking into ordering a lift and making the modifications necessary to lift the trike.

When you get your lift call me. I have a good idea about making a removable adapter for your trike.

Would be my pleasure to assist w/ lift install and discuss differential change.
My shocks were both leaking and I called hannigan, replacements will arrive here today and when I return the old ones, Hannigan will credit the entire amount to my card even though they were 14 months out of warranty !!!!!

I live near Seattle but I would jump on the Lt and attend a tech session in the great state of Oregon.

I don't have any pressing issues but would love to see a plastic removal session or any other fixes.

I have a few to do's and seeing it done is invaluable for me and will probably save me a great deal of problems down the line.

Just drop me a line on any upcoming sessions.

regards,

Ian

If we get our act together early enough, we usually post about upcoming tech sessions here. Sometimes it's just a couple of guys in a garage though. :)

But all are welcome to come and watch or even help.

Ian, I'm sure Ernie will chime in here also, but the reason it was not posted was we were not even sure if it was going to happen as scheduled, and it was only the Trike that was being worked on. Plus the Trike has quite a few items that are different from the normal LT, so we were not sure of the value to the average LT rider.

We will try to do a better job of broadcasting future Tech Sessions though! On that subject, if you have something coming up that you need help with, drop any of us Oregonians, or Washingtonians (Like Brian!) a line right here and we can make the session a happening! Here or up there!

Hi Ian,

Like John said the last tech session was a bit impromptu and not advertised as usual. Normally we post a couple weeks in advance. I'm going to be doing a 12k service with Valve check, fuel filter and all fluid changes after I get back from CCR. Look for a date coming up around the 3rd or 4th week of September. We would like to meet you. :D
