We had an impromptu tech session tonight because I wanted to get my new Hella lights wired up and Rich was kind enough to come over and do most of the work:)
In his continuing quest to have the LT with the most wires, switches and gadgets, Raffy came over and installed a phoenix switch to control the Hella HID's and Moto Lights.
Rich's son Brian jumped right in and worked on Raffy's project while Roger and I supervised Rich's wiring job on my GS. The lights work great and the installation is very clean.
I've been bugging Mr Omaha to put a Remus can on his K1200R for 6 months, so tonight he finally broke down and did it:D That turned out to be the easiest task of the evening. Couple of bolts. couple of screws, whack it with the hammer a few times and PRESTO!!! That bike sounds wicked now!!!
I took a few pics which can be viewed here - http://www.sealec.com/ted/album13

Lots accomplished with so few folks. Well done!!!
One question though, did Raffy follow the instructions in putting the Remus together or was it hit and and miss?? ;)

Where do you get the phoenix switch at? How does the remus sound? Looks like everybody had fun. Is anyone going to the ERC in Woodland today?

Thanks Ted for hosting the mini-tech session. A lot was accomplished last night and into this morning. I rolled home around 12:45 AM. Glad I bought the riding gear (First Gear Kilimanjaro and HT overpants) from A&S earlier in the day.
Big thanks go also to Richard for his wiring expertise and Brian (Rich's son) for jumping in and cutting/filing the handlebar covers for the Phoenix switches. After all was said and done, I now control my Motolghts through one Phoenix switch, while the other controls the Hella Micro DE Xenons. Bonus, I have the brake reservoir cover freed up for another farkle (read camera mount).
The whole bike setup looks much cleaner with the BMR shelf having my Sirius on the right, The Garmin SP III in the middle on a Touratech lockable mount, and the Valentine 1 on the left with a security cover over it.
I still need to re-wire my V1, and Sat radio so they get turned on with a separate switch. That is a switch that will have to be manually turned on to get power to the units. That way if I forget to lock the handlebars, the Sat radio will not drain the battery due to its lighted power button when key is left in R position - DAMHIK.
I have the GPS direct to battery (through fuse box) in order to be able to leave it on during fuel stops on LD rides to keep track of stopped time and averages.

Phoenix switch (two switches and housing) can be ordered from your local BMW dealer. Part numbers are in the Accessories section of this site under Part Numbers link.
I'll post a pic later of my setup.
BTW, PM me your address.

Come on Raffy....You tought me everything I know (or need)! When I hit the lottery...I'm gettin a pen and paper, making a list of all your farkles and hitting eBay with a purpose. I figure about $6K would put me about in the ballpark! Is that another Blue sea Fuseblock I see under the nose cowling????

But Raffy, would you enjoy it as much?
Besides, when the Finance Chairman says I am spending to much, I can say "Look at this list one of the guys in CA has added to his bike - I just want to add fill in the blank ..." ....;)
If that doesn't work, I play my trump card - safety ....
Happy Thanksgiving!

After deciding that I couldn't live without a new stereo system for my truck.....The SO pretty much clipped my Farkle buying Wings for awhile! To many hobbies..and..to little bank account! Life's ruff! :o
