Great day for a RTE. Thanks Dick for setting this up. Lots of good Q was consumed at the Hard 8 and then a few went down to Hico for dessert.

It was good to see everyone and meet some new people. Shawn hope you had a safe journey home.

Yep, Shawn definitely gets the dedicated LT rider award for making the trip this time of year from Bartlesville to Stephenville. Glad to meet you, Shawn, and hope to see you at other gatherings.

I made it home at 7:03 -- 6hrs 13mins (433 miles)...

I have never seen so many idiots as I saw on the Turner Turnpike...

amateur version of Nascar
dueling U-Hauls
Rolling Roadblock
...and a special thank you to OK DOT for the construction that brought everything to a halt while we all tried to funnel into one lane. Saw a sign that said reduced speed ahead - ok, cruise off, 80, 79, 78, ...top the hill ... 77, 76, ... what are all the brake lights and why are the getting so close... squeezing and stomping.... and to think I paid for that!

It was really great to meet so many folks I have seen here for the past couple years, see the different bikes, and hear stories. Food was great, although Jalapeno sausage and beans may not be the ideal distance food... ;-)

I wish I had thought ahead a bit - only another 140 miles and I could have got my SS1000... Oh well, maybe next year...

Special thanks to my Boerne travel agent - Dick... Hope you ate my pie...

Hey Shawn - I gotta tell ya, that practice run for the IBA podium finish wuz fantastic. I really thank you for making the trip. Sure wish I'da thought about you leavin' Bartlesville at 0330  and gettin' to the Hard 8 at 0930 - kinda lonely out there in their parking lot that time of the morning, ain't it?? Or did you get to help 'em fire up the 'Q' pits?!!!

Know whatcha mean about them lane closures - I had the misfortune of gettin' sandwiched 'tween two semi's (or more likely, a dozen of 'em!!) on my last run to KS, and those boyz don't play fair. I think the closest one on our butt wanted Toad as a hood ornament or sumpthin'!! Exciting, ain't it!!

BTW - gonna use Bruce's thread, and your post, to tack on today's attendee roster. I wuz really surprized at the number of bikes lined up in the parking lot when Edgar and I turned the corner. I thought maybe we were gonna gate crash a club outing or sumpthin'. It wuz really great to find out everyone wuz there for the RTE - or are we gonna start calling 'em RTPs?!!! Ride to Pies!! And btw Shawn, your piece of chocolate meringue at Hico wuz deliciososo!!! :p

Thanks to all for today - hope everyone had a good time, a great ride, and all arrived home safe. Hope I didn't forgit anybody.
