I was thinking about riding down to the little Tech Session this weekend, but after last weekend, I am not too keen on the idea... I almost got too hot.
I ordered a new Olympia Airglide Jacket and Pants today.. both in silver to try and reflect the heat. Seems like I do ok until I get into slow traffic/lights and then I get hot quick and never recover. I am hoping the lighter color will help reflect some of the heat I am experiencing when I am stopped. I doubt I will have them by this weekend though.
I spent my Shoei MultTec money for a new summer suit... but I think I will buy a new helmet soon too. At least if I die from heat stroke, I will be wearing some good protective gear! :)
My HID kits came in yesterday... maybe I wll stay in my own cool garage this weekend and install them.

I think heat will be the least of your concerns this weekend.

I still would like to ride down.... but looks like they are forecasting about 97 for Saturday in the DFW area. I am thinking ole Deano might get a little warm.

Wuss!! :p :histerica
Man, I wuz hopin' you were talkin' 'bout Grif's tech session! I wuz gonna send you one of my cool vests to try out on the ride down, and then recharge it here for the ride back - just to see if you like those thangs. Sure allows me to get out on days when i used to 'wuss' and take ole Blue Truck, instead of ole Toad.
Course, you didn't fill out your vitals - you know; weight, girth, etc - on your profile page, so ..... :rotf:
You're gonna like that new gear ya bought. The silver color seems to make a big difference, according to Bones and Grif. My silver Joe Rocket performs about the same way - mucho cool.
Seriously, Dean - you oughta try one of those cool vest thangs. They're available all over the place, and even Bentonville BMW, or Little Rock BMW oughta gitcha one pretty quick. The Silver Eagle branded ones work pretty good, I hear, butt so does the BMW one I have.
Good luck on solving the heat problem. Looking forward to meeting up with ya sometime this year - Hard 8, or maybe up around Tyler and harrass Kellenbenz one of these dayz. Take care.

Dick:
I have a Phase Change vest (with the solution that turns to ice at 59 degrees) that works great... but it only keeps you cool for about 1.5 to 2 hrs max. Then re-charging is an issue, so I have not been using it... If that is the kind of vest you are talking about, I can agree that they work, but they are a bit hard to use in the real world on a motorcycle unless you can carry a big ole ice chest full of ice water to dunk the PCM packets in every 1.5 to 2 hours and re-freeze them.
I used to use it a couple of years ago.. I would keep the PCM packets in a little ice chest on my bike and then in the middle of the afternoon, I would put the vest on and it would usually give me from 1.5 to 2 hours of relief.

Actually, I am purdy, slim and well built .... but I didn't put that info in my profile because I didn't think this was dating site... I think everyone on those dating sites lies about what they look like, but I would never do that ;) .... but I am afraid that there is a few guys that have met me that may lie and tell 'ya I am uglier than homemade soap.... but don't believe them :histerica

Oops. My bad. But on the upside, if he DID come down this way, he could recharge his cool vest while he rode.
