First off, I need to qualify this by saying that I am NOT a photographer. I am a 'picture taker', at best. But I do enjoy photography, and I have always been intrigued with the idea of taking pictures of things like fireworks. You know...things that ain't around for very long and are in motion.
Long story shortened...I just bought a Kodak C643 (6.1MP point and shoot). For a cheap camera it does have some pretty cool features. One setting is the 'Fireworks' setting. So on the 4th of July, I brought the C643 along with my even cheesier tripod and I took some pics. I, as well as several real photographers in my group, was pretty impressed with some of the shots.
I believe that the 'Fireworks' setting is simply increasing the shutter speed to 4 seconds. You experts could probably take a better guess than I.

I'll be taking this camera to MotoGP. Hopefully I can capture some more cool shots.
