U.S.A. or the rest of the world.
Or date of purchase ?.

What I mean is: the model year or date of purchase ?, as an 06 has already submitted a vote.

With only 110 votes cast, I find it interesting that 2001 and 2004 are much lower than the rest. I've seen this same distribution on the Curve Cowboy Reunion stats, and have wondered why? Was 2001 and 2004 bad sales years for the K1200LT? Have our members traded off their 2001 and 2004 bikes to people who haven't voted yet? Did all the 2001 and 2004 bikes mysteriously disappear?

Wasn't the '05 released early? That would of cut into '04 production numbers.

True, plus the '02 (US) bikes had the Integral brakes, so some people may have waited for that release rather than buying an '01. And yes, some may not have.

Vince/Ken,
I had forgotten that. That is a plausible explaination of the numbers. Thanks.

Another question you could ask is if their current LT is the first or second (or third) one.

My guess is that every year pre-big changes (2001--> integrated brakes in 2002, and 2004-->new engine in 2005) people buy less bikes... :) could be?

I bought my machine in the Spring of '02. Interest rates were 4.8% in December '01. A National crisis had just happened and BMW dealers I talked with said the 4th quarter sales had almost ceased, therefore they introduced the .9% and other incentives in '02.
I was just getting into this Website when '04 was rolling around. There was a lot of talk and speculation about the '05 model being "much improved" over previous years. I'm not willing to speculate that this site could sway sales that much, but I'm willing to consider the notion that it might have contributed to a slow '04. BTW... Wasn't there a decrease in the number of '04's produced to introduce the '05 in the early spring of '05? Another idea worth thinking. I better take another pain pill and turn this 'puter off. http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

This poll indicates that I already voted, and I did back when I had the '99. I now have an '05. How do I change my vote? I assume there may be others like me and therefore your data may not reflect the current distribution. If votes can't be changed then perhaps a new poll is in order.

There's something wrong with the '06 stat. And less than 800 voters? What's up with that anyway?

I am surprized to see so Many of us have 2005 models..
I think that is indicative of several positive things .... I like it!

My LT is a 2003 Gray Metalic. Only had it for two months, but when I ride it seems like it is a part of me. Previous I had a 2002 Harley Road King Classic. The Harley was an excellent bike, but can not compare to the LT in handling or comfort. Looking forward to many years riding this wonderful machine.

When I went into the Hopkins Hitching Post, I had my eye on a lovely Blue 08 LT, but it turned out that it was already sold, and the last of the 08s, the very next week they had an 09 on the floor, I was also made aware that they didn't make any in Blue, so I settled for the Black.
