Is there anyone leaving from Austin, TX to CCR 2007 and want some company? I spoke to Dick last week while at Lonestar and he said that someone is leaving on Monday or Sunday, spending one night on the road????Beverly, my wife, and I can leave even on Sunday. This is going to be my first CCR and I definitely want my partner, my wife to enjoy the ride. We have ridden over 500 miles in one day (going to Big Bend), but we want to enjoy this one a littel more.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550, so if you have any routes to/from or during CCR 2007 please forward to my email, kprewitt5@sbcgloblal.net. (Jeff's Newsletter lCCR 2007 route inks did not work)

Hey, Keith - not speaking for them, butt were I going, I'd hook up with these folks who appear to be making the most of the trip to Tan-Tara-A. Steve and Sammie Shreeve ( katnapinn - Austin and Killen area) and Jerry England (Lonewuff - Magnolia). I believe they're gonna make the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge as their overniter on Monday (and the Lodge folks won't know what hit 'em!!).

And shoot, if they wouldn't lemme ride with 'em, I'd just tag along behind and at stops, turn on their seat/grip heaters when they weren't lookin', or reroute their GPS!! ;)

Good luck, Bud. You and Beverly have a grand time at the lake. Since this will be your first CCR, keep a keen eye out for Grif tho - you might wanna take the steps instead of the elevator (ask him, or Dave Dragon, about that !! ;) ).

I'll be going thru Austin from New Braunfels, but am riding straight thru to TTA in one day and you definitely don't want to subject your gal to that (tank to tank, stops with a pee and granola break)

If you do not wish to slide over east with the Okie riders, the best (part slab, part pleasant secondary roads) route is I35 to Dallas area, then catch Hwy 75 south of Dallas uip through Sherman, Dennison, where it becomes 69 and follow it up to Big Cabin, OK. Then grab 44 east until you find a point you want to cut off the slab. A decent choice is to leave the slab at Springfield, on Hwy 65, catch Hwy 73 near Buffalo and take it to 54 below Mack's Creek and follow 54 in to Osage Beach. TTA signs will be just before you get to OB itself, but you will have passed at least one frozen custard stand in town at that point, IIR.

We'll be rolling up that route from Austin on a two day Sunday/Monday, taking it easy and probably stopping around Muskogee +/-, but will be in a Ford F250 Supercrew, pulling a trailer with the LT and enough other gear to look like the Beverly Hillbillies moving home FROM BH.

My co-pilot and I will be going to the CCR at Tan-tar. We were planning a leisurely ride arriving on Monday. No 500 milers need apply but I would be willing to modify my plans in exchange for some company. PM me if you care to chat it over.

Kieth...

We Have reserved a room at the www.QueenWilhemina.com just outside of Mena Ark. for Monday night. we would like to be there by midafternoon so we can enjoy a nice evening ride around the park. I was up there last month and it is a wonderful area. Great roads and nice views. Another freind from Houston is planing on meeting us eather on the road or at the lodge. It would be great to have more folks to ride with. We will be pulling a trailer and so will Jerry so we will not be flying low. Then we can take our time getting to Tan-Tar-A on Tuesday.

I have already made a reservation at the Queen Wilhemina Lodge for Monday night. We will continue at a leisure pace to Osage Beach on Tuesday.

If you want to joing us, email me at kprewitt5@sbcglobal.net or call me at 512-743-0093. If you have a Garmin, I'll send you a prospective route as well.
