My local dealer just did the warranty replacement of the seats on the bike due to a mis-alignment of the receiver, and the 1" high adjuster. the adjuster would just slide by the rubber/plastic catches, and drop onto the frame. The new seats are 1) wider, 2) higher in the back, 3) longer. My Backup Backrest is hard pressed to fit against the seat back when the seat is in the higher position. Its like 1-2 inches higher (just sitting on it flat footed at a stop).

I compared the construction of the seats and there is a marked difference in materials, and method of construction. This one seems much sturdier, and the high stand is much more reinforced, and aligned. The rear seat seems a touch longer as well, and the heated seat buttons are in a completely different position. I confirmed the numbers, and it is the correct '05 part number for heated seats.

No complaints yet, but I am way the hell up over the short windshield on the '05. Really cold at 26 degrees :( on the upper chest and throat.
