I just bought a new set of BMW rear brake pads for the LT.
I was interested to note that the leading and trailing edge of these pads are tapered; the original ones were not.
It reminded me of a fix for squealing cars brakes I once was told about and used, which was to grind down the leading and trailing edges of the pads. As I recall, it did work on my 1978 Datsun 280Z.
Now I wonder if it isn't BMW's attempt to fix the rear brake squeal.
Which leads me to wonder if someone who has squealing OEM brake pads were to grind those pads to look like these if it would fix the squeal.
