Are you talking about hid lighting, if so, at least get the low beam, if you ride a good amount at night then get the high beam as well.

Just got back from a round trip ride from LAS to Tampa. Believe me it is worth it!! It lights up the road real good!! I had just installed them before I left and it sure came in handy on those late night layover arrivals..

You wont regret it, thats for sure.
I was seriously worried every time the sun went down before the HQHid fix.
Now I ride like it's daylight.
Loads of help on here if you get in to any problems fitting it.

I've read here that upgrading the lights is a top priority. Well, got my night/IFR endorsement last night finally, and with the wife in the back seat (the boot in the boot, for our Brit pals) to make it even more interesting. The main road was not too bad - relatively straight, well-defined center-line and leaving, somewhat rudely, my high-beam on. But the secondary road was a crap-shoot. Whar's that road, Matey?? Couldn't see very well at all, feared going off the road. With a faded center line, gray pavement blending off into gray gravel...wow. How I wished for better lighting!

I didn't think much about it til I had to ride a road I was semi familiar with at night. With the OEM low and high beam, I still couldn't ride any curve much more than 35 mph. I simply could not define the road. With the HID, it's like having a street light in front of the bike.
HID should be the first "MUST HAVE" add-on for an LT.

Installed mine about a month ago.. Best investment in the bike I have made to date... Don't hesitate.. It is a great deal. The install isn't bad either.

Robert,
Not mentioned here yet but there are daytime benefits to an HID - you will get noticed more . . . after install I believe you will experience everyone giving you a longer look and along with less near misses.:D
Next step get some Moto Lights on your forks and you will be all set and "safe".

Robert, see post #64 in this thread http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22443&page=7&pp=10 it's the best $75 you will ever spend. it really lites up those dark 2- lane roads.

You will wonder How you could see at all once you put the HID in the low beam position.
IT is the best money you will ever spend on the bike
