Planning on driving through West Virginia next week. Don't want to go highway. Is 250 to 219 a fun road to ride on? Or any other suggestions to get me to the bottom of West Virginia.
thanks

Yes to both,Coming from Ohio 250 gets a little busy in town Fairmont, Grafton is small you'll breeze right through. 250 past Elkins is a great ride through some national forest.
219 takes you down through snowshoe, and the limestone ridge.
WV 16 down to Gauley Bridge can make you lose your lunch in spots. :D
If you get into Summerville( US 19,) at all, watch your speed.

I use to take 217 from around Bluefield, WV on up to Morgantown several times a year, back and forth to school and it was an awsome trip that I wish to duplicate some day. Of course that was in the dark ages and I haven't made the run since 1973....... I'm sure nothing has changed! Even did it one Easter weekend and it began to snow early on the trip. By the time we got to the real mountains, after Greenbank, there was 12 " of snow on the ground. Elkins mountain was just about impossible. All on an Honda 350.... My buddy was on his Honda 450. Too young to know better or care.

YES... take the trip...
