Will some of you guys that have just a little bit of class that knows Joe, please talk to that man and try you best to get him to come back to the forum, I mean beg man.
This place is dead.
Before he left I could not wait to get home to see what that young man was into or had started. I mean I have laughed until I had tears running down my cheeks, the front one's.
That young man even chewed my ass out the first time I posted anything on this forum for typing in capitol letters. I even had a laugh at that.
He is a very friendly and open person and will share any information that he has with anyone. This place really rocked while he was here, now it is just another place to hang your hat. I have actually started just walking in and turning on the tv instead of the computer to check joe out like I use to.
I know that some of you guys are just a little sensative, but that's alright too.
If other people that have been here for a while don't reconize that this place is dead, something is wrong. But then again some people just like bland things.
I think that this place needs him a hell of a lot more than he needs us.
Just swallow your pride and pick up the phone and call him.

You mean there is nobody being attacked? Frankly I LOVE it that way. But what do I know?

There is plenty of polarization around here without Joe's influence. He can hardly be blamed for it all. Just this week there have been at least 3 threads that have led to "left vs right" or "GL vs LT" or "My oil is better than your oil" or "My tires are more 133t than your tyrz". Sure, Joe stirred the pot, but it isn't as if the pot miraculously became dead calm w/o his presence.

Discussions about tires or oil or even one bike vs. another are just that, discussions, not stirring the pot. I don't miss the other posts at all...

I liked a lot of Joe's informational posts. His write-up on CQ Light installation was awesome. It looks like he has chosen to not be involved any longer, which of course is his choice to make.
I liked reading a lot of his posts; but I like reading most of the other posts around here. To me, this site is more for informational purposes, and swapping ideas about motorcycles and their use - not entertainment, political discussions, or "pot-stirring".
I don't see the point in calling and begging anyone to be a part of this forum.

To defend Joe, I think all of us have our "moments" on this forum, I'm having one now! :D

Sure, I miss Joe here, too. He has a sense of humor and a ton of experience and knowledge... but so do many other people. As said previously he is making a choice, and it's his choice to continue to make.
"This place is dead"? Check out the recent thread about motorman587's trip on the Haul Road, or DaveDragon's rideabout, or Randy's recent adventure. There are many interesting and informative discussions going on at this very moment -- not to mention the pre-CCR threads!

You know what I think (and no, I'm not going to make a comment about Liberals being the scourge of the Earth in this thread, y'all know it's true without me saying it all the time :p ) I think we need to start having more get togethers. I think what we need is to start organizing weekend camping trips for folks to get together, AND I think we need to coordinate those with some tech sessions. Even simple things like the HID, IPOD or shock install type stuff is a HUGE help to most folks who have the fear of taking off the tupperware. We really need to work on the sense of community and get folks together more often for fun, not just at the major rallies, although they are great too.

I think we need to start having more get togethers. I think what we need is to start organizing weekend camping trips for folks to get together, AND I think we need to coordinate those with some tech sessions. That's a great idea. Several of the local forums are used for just that purpose. The HDDC is legendary, as are Dick's famous *$$'s and KK meets. ;) There's also WCR, STC, and a host of other regional events. I've organized several RTEs and/or tech sessions in various states (and got the plaque to prove it :)). Heck, I've even gotten folks to come out of their shells when I've been traveling overseas. Any excuse for a pint.
All it takes is for someone to pick a time and place, or ask for specific help with an install or service, or just say "I'm going for a ride - anybody want to come?" And the best part of all this? These meets always end up with lots of laughter, joking, occasionally getting some useful work done, and pretty much never delve into politics, religion, or anything else along those lines. It's just a great way to catch up with old friends, and make a few new ones.

Guy's, I think that what he is really trying to say is that with these get togethers we would get to know each other better and probably not be so offended like some of you are each and every time some one disagrees with you or is trying to have fun with you. No doubt this forum was a release for Joe, well we all need a release, we can not stay out there on these bikes 24/7. Some things said coming from a stranger seem really strange and make us mad. Some things coming from a friend we would realize that most of the time it is all in fun and that they don't really mean anything by it.
Guy's it's just a lot of tech support here and a little fun, that's it.
I think what he say's makes sence.

Ding Ding Ding!!!! We have a winner! This is precisely what I was saying. Being able to discuss things with so many people from so many different back grounds is an AWESOME tool, but most times we don't really use it properly. If we knew each other better, we would be able to share ideas in a CIVIL fashion and LEARN from each other. Even from Liberals.... LMAO! :histerica

MAN, you guys are really a bunch of sissies. Just because someone who is outspoken gets all her panties in a bunch after being caught in some "misunderstandings" and called out for and then picks up all her stuff and leaves, you start whining for her to come back.
wazzupwitdat?
And for Joe being the site: You might as well spit in the face of the moderators and the admins. If anybody "is the site" it's them. Or did I get somethingthing wrong here and Joe does all the work in the background and I did not realize how important she really is?
Seriously, you guys need to grow up, and not measure the "worth" of a member by the number of posts. Maybe I can explain it in other terms: Motorman, if you see a specfic car every day, and this one car is on a particular strech of the raod every day, and almost every day somewhere on that stretch it speeds down the road with 90mph, and the driver packs her panties and leaves after being told not to do that any more. Would you do the same whine for that car to come back? I didn't think so.
Anywho, yall need to grow up. If she comes back so be it. If she doesn't, even better. One less on my ignore list. And if she decides to come back, I hope the moderators will splain a couple things to her.

Joe is an oaf and a bully when he gets behind the keyboard. Then he plays the victim when he's called out on it. Based on his post count, Joe is also an ATTENTION WHORE!
John is spoiled little girl. Whenever he posts something and ANYONE pushes back in the slightest, he posts a "I'm leaving the site" message and storms off in a huff. And then he comes back and plays the innocent by asking where's Joe in another thread.
So, here's to the two of you:

RockOk, I just figured out which John you meant. I respect John and the job he does. I've met him face to face and he's a great guy. What's even better is the class he teaches, The Slow School. An awesome class that teaches you what the motor guy's have learned on their bikes. You oughta see that feller ride. Just awesome.
Would I call him a pussy or a sissy to his face? You betcha. But, it wouldn't have the impact you're looking for because, once again, he'd know I was fucking with him.
I know where you're coming from. Folks that hide behind a keyboard making comments and when you're face to face with them, well, they're a different cat. I hung out with the Bandidos when I was younger and learned what respect is. These folks behind the keyboards have no idea what respect is, nor have they ever been on the wrong end of the learning process.

You poor deprived people...whining for Joe.
I guess you didn't mind him going, behind your back, to other sites on the web and calling you all a bunch of no-riding whimps and more. I guess you guys were the kind in school who let people bully you or your friends and then later called them your buddy on the days they left you alone.
That's pathetic!
I loved to read Joe on this site...but when I saw what he was writing about us on other sites and fishing for a new pond to pollute I saw a different Joe. One that I didn't give a sh!t about anymore. He never attacked me...but that was an insult to us all that requires a thorough heartfelt apology. That hasn't happened, much less been admitted to. I got a little pride, I got self-respect. If somebody feels o.k. about talking trash about others behind their backs...then I'm o.k. telling them to kiss my a$$. That's at the keyboard and face to face.

But aren't we better than that. Sure I have been pushed, and it was about my work that I love and enjoy. I work for a great department and some of the post about work is so not true about the department I work for. I have learned to keep work off this site and have gotten burnt twice.
Joe taught me a lesson and I am not mad at him or others. I wish and have posted this before the we respect others opinion no matter how we agree or disagree.
To call me a name or Joe is uncalled for. Again that are personal attacks on people, because if you really think I am ,whatever was quoted, then you really do not know who I am. And if Joe post slander on other on another site then that is Joe. Joe has apologized to me and we where fine when I left for Alaska. I thought all was good.
Name calling is uncalled for and for me to grow up, isn't that calling the kettle black???

IMHO - it's strange, in this particular 'lynch Joe' thread most of the antagonistics participents have only about 150 - 200 posts - OK, they might have been lurkin for years, but they still 'haen't held their head over the parapet- I'm still lookin forward to lending Joe my Ducati when he comes to Europe next year. GET A LIFE GUYS.

I leave for over a month, and this is all you guys have to talk about? :)
Just a few "facts", to cloud the issue. (At least I think they are facts.)
John and I made amends. I learned, and he learned from our experience. The rest of you need to keep your nose where it belongs.
Yes, I did have a thread on another forum regarding "thin-skinned wussies". But I NEVER mentioned the name of the forum. I was very careful as to not point fingers at anyone. It was my full intent to leave that discussion over there and to simply vent, meanwhile keeping anonymity. I found it very odd and confusing that members from this site even got involved over there. Not smart, IMO.
Anyone offended at the thread over on "the other forum" should probably have been offended. You are the thin-skinned, limp-wristed wussies that I was referring to.
I would like to thank those of you who attacked me in this thread. At least now I know who some of my enemies are. Just do me a favor and don't act nice to me if/when you meet me in person. I hate two-faced liars.
Fortunately for those in here that can't stand me, in the last month I have been reintroduced to old hobbies, introduced to new ones, and have found the appropriate forums for such. This means that I won't be spending as much time here, as is evident in my absence over the past month. Whatta ya know? There is life outside of bmwlt.com. :)
Lastly, I'd like to thank my friends for their support. No need to list em...you know who you are. ;)

Lastly, I'd like to thank my friends for their support. No need to list em...you know who you are. ;)Hi, Joe.
Last year in Brazelton was one of the lowest points in my life as you may recall. Those circumstances had nothing at all to do with CCR or it's organizers or staff, purely personal. I'm still trying to recover from all tht was going on. Joe, you were one of less than a handful of folks who tried to help and spent a very kind breakfast with Lynn and I. Before I met you face to face I did wonder if you were an insensitive moron, but what you did touched me and created an abundance of dispensation in the insensitive department with me. I'll never forget it.
I've been participating in forums, lists and BBSes since before the Internet and nothing's changed. There's a disconnect behind the the modem, keyboard and mouse that lets some folks find a kind of Dutch courage. I tend to ignore it and just don't join those conversations. I've learned that life's just too short to worry about it. For myself, I'm well aware of my limitations and shortcomings. There's no one in a forum that can be harder on me than I am on my self.

I guess this qualifies Todd as winner. Joe could not stand to stay away. Which is a shame. It was so nice and quiet. But then maybe you have not read what he thinks about you/us? Well,,, in his own words:
Especially in online forums! More specifically, MOTORCYCLE ONLINE FORUMS!
OK...fine! So I am sarcastic. So I have a sense of humor. But I am a member of several motorcycle forums and I'm constantly getting PMs and phone calls from the admins about people being offended! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?!?! Who are all these limp-wristed, thin-skinned homos that claim they are riders. That claim they are men. And what bothers me the most is when I meet these guys in person and they are 10 times more crude than I could ever be.
I have over 12,000 posts on one m/c forum, and I have had it with those wussies!!! (Emphasis added)
Joe, maybe, just maybe, you might want to ask youself WHY it is that you are "constantly getting PM's and phone calls" MAYBE it's not all of THEM going into the wrong direction. MAYBE it's not [b]all[b] of the "limp wristed, thin skinned homos" who are on the wrong path.

Hey there 44022 neighbor! I have other interests as well BUT, just returned this afternoon from a 2,235 mile spin through the Coastal Great Lakes Highway, (Lakes Erie, Michigan, Huron & Superior) the UP of MI and then to BMWMOA and finally home. I had quite a few comments about the HID from CQ, like where do you get one of those, how do you install it, and what is BMWLT.com???
I've been spreading the word. :D
AND, I dropped the blue whale in front of Notre Dame last night in soft, powdery sand looking for a place to turn around and find a motel. :(
I had to unpack all of my gear (Thank you Helen 2 Wheels for a quickie [disconnect, that is] and righted the whale by using the technique previously posted on the site. It was a little more difficult in the soft stuff, but the Phoenix rose from the sand. I road down the sidewalk until I found a cross walk to get back on the street.
Great trip, great scoot, great friend . . .
See the rest of the crowd at CCR!

...Joe has helped 100's of you all-but a few a-holes that have an "Oh my God-I can't believe I just read that" syndrome had to make a big STINK......oh wow I'm gonna put him on my ignore list that will fix him...I'm tough!!!...Although I've been following this thread (and had a post early on), I thought I would/should stay out of the brouhaha that developed -- not wanting to contribute to the drama. However, I'm sitting here in rural Ohio a little confused. Yes, absolutely, my reply to the original "problem" thread on this topic was essentially as you quote above, and that comment reflected how I felt after reading Joe's reply to John. My comment wasn't defamatory, and nothing along the lines of making a stink followed from this member of the site. So... I guess my point is this: if anyone thinks I've been two-faced on this or other topics, or if I'm no longer someone's friend because I didn't blindly follow the conventional wisdom, then they'll have to let me in on that bit of information.
If you look at the totality of my posts that mention Joe you'll see I'm a card-carrying member of Those Who Have Benefited From Knowing Joe And Openly Acknowlege It.
Finally: no one is on my ignore list. There's too much interesting stuff here to ignore anyone!

You called me/us those things on the other thread without knowing me/us. I'm offended not because you said it...but because you said it with complete and total ignorance of who I am. And that makes you an insensitive playground bully...and oh yea...the thing you say you hate TWO-FACED.

Alas this is further from the truth. I am looking at high schools for my daughters, as they are just about to start Junior high, and it seems that the only way they will get an education is in a (very expensive) private school. Public schools in L.A. are a big disappointment, and I don't want my kids to be a minority.

I think just about everyone in the country says something like " If you don't like the [insert location here] weather, just wait 10 minutes" but I have not seen things change as rapidly as they do along the 'Shipwreck Coast' of Lake Superior. I have a camp on the lake just west of where you were and cannot count the number of times it's gone from pleasant to near hurricane & back to pleasant again in an hour's time. Gets even more severe when "the Gales of November" arrive.
