Condensation comes and goes on my stock GPS. Will it always do that or if it sits long enough in a dry closet will it go away for ever? Is it something that the factory will need to deal with?
Its usually right in the center of the screen about 1/4-1/3 of the total viewing area. I ride for a while and its gone.

My SPIII/Navigator had this problem this summer after many long hours of rain in the Pacific North West.
It died the next day and would not even boot up.
I removed the battery door and batteries and put it back in the mount to let it dry from the hot air blasts of the Nevada Desert. After two days of this it started up again and continued to work.

I assume the Navigator II? It's an issue that turns up more often on the Nav II and SP2610. I have heard of units being replaced for this problem.
Lately, dealers advise to put the unit in a dry and warm place, remove the CF card and leave that door open for a day or two. If that doesn't do the trick, go back to your dealer.

It is a NAV II. I put it in a dry place, but did not take the card out and leave the door open. That's on my list for today. Thanks..and if it comes back I will take it to the dealer.

Erwin,
I removed the card and let the bugger dry out. No condensation during use so far. It has been on 2 short rides.
