Took a short ride today with a couple of good friends. Rode approximately 240 miles today, weather was hot and traffic was very good.
Had a good breakfast this morning in Ringgold and took off for Tellico Plains. Went up to the Ocoee region and headed towards Reliance and then to Tellico and up to the 4300 level on the Skyway. Turned around and headed back towards Tellico Plains and ate at the Tellicafe.
Had the Trout and the sweet fried potatoes, yum-yum! They have paived the parking lot so no more pea gravel.
Headed home and ran into a little rain which was good as it cooled us off!

Glad you enjoyed the day Brett. My wife and I are planning an overnighter across the Skyway to Tellico. Can you recommend any good tenting campgrounds in the Tellico Plains area?

It was good to just go!
As far as tenting, a good place to lay your tent down is at Indian Boundry Campground. Paved roads, not a lot to do there but it is a good, clean, quite place. There are showers/facilities there but no restaurant. It is 20 minutes + to Tellico.
Indian Boundary is on the Tennessee side of the Cherohala about the 2000 ft level.
Theres is also a KOA ( I think) IN Tellico Plains about a mile from the Bistro Restaurant.
The only other place that I can think of is on the Tellico River up past Bald River Falls. There is a store, roads are paved, TONS OF TRAFFIC and there was (is) a small hotel there call Greenbriar.
I have camped many times at all places except the KOA.
Anyway, enjoy your trip

Sounds great. Thanks for the feedabck. I think we'll try the Indian Boundary.
Thanks again Brett,
