I've got a 2002 LT. To lift it onto its center stand, I have to raise the bike about two inches. I saw another guy with a 2002 whose rear wheel's clearance when up was about a half-inch. Obviously, he had no trouble using the center stand while I'm getting a hernia.

His bike rides an inch and a half higher than mine, or his center stand is the same amount shorter. What's the deal? I've tried adjusting the manual suspension knob, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Others with this problem have (1) changed to Ohlins shocks - cures the problem, gives a better ride, but expensive; or (2) re-filled the LT's rear shock with hydraulic fluid. I'm told this also cures the problem.
