Here it is June and we haven't hit 100 degrees yet?

And what's with this rain? Have we been Twilight Zoned to Seattle? OK, I wanna know, and I wanna know right now.....

WHO THE HELL KEEPS WASHING THEIR BIKE???!!!!

Know what you mean... the TV weather men here in the OKC market can't even get the first day of their 7 day forecast right.

I rode to the BMWOA meeting in OKC Wednesday night (to show everyone the GS-911) and got rained on both directions. That was my only ride all week long.

Sorry, that was me. Too many rallies on the calendar this year, and I like to have a clean bike when I head out for those things. This weekend should be the last time I need to wash the bike until the end of the year, so it'll get better. :)

Like Dean and a lot of others, I am getting more wet riding time in then I care to....

My Titan Silver bike is now clser to Battleship Grey and I am NOT going to wash it!

Not only am I getting my riding time in the wet, but mowing, too. I mistakenly mowed my momma's yard when she was twixt yardmen, she didn't like any after that, so guess who gets to do it? And, it doesn't matter to her if it's coming down like slobber from one of Dick's dogs. She reckons if I can ride, I can mow.

Might try running over the flowers or something - worked as a kid... What's the worst that could happen? She can't ground you anymore - can she? ;)

Grif,

I'm afraid we have your summer up here and we aren't giving it back :histerica .

The weather around here has been like the middle of August for the past three weeks and I'm not complaining. It almost makes up for the 2' snow storm we had in April.

I'll trade ya!

Have not had high temps, but we are having the worst 4 month period drought here in eastern TN for 118 years! Lawns are dying, and the Douglas Lake is 13 feet below normal for this time of year. MANY docks around the lake sitting on dirt.

Grif, same thing here in Ohio -- we need some of your rain. I feel for you Texans, with all the flooding and everything. Please send some of it here. Our farmers are starting to get really worried. Yards are brown. Gardens have to be watered to keep things from dying.

Any minute now we're going to hear Al Gore say these problems are because of changed weather patterns due to global warming.

The town that I live in has had water rationing since last year. Docks on our little city lake were sitting on dirt as well. With all of the rain here in central OK this spring, our local lake is up about 9 feet, but still not full. I think most of the docks are in water now, but just barely.

You might want to show Al this article from Time magazine where scientists were talking about global COOLING in 1974.

One thing is for sure... no one knows.... even Al Gore.

We had a severe drought here last year, and before the rain started this Spring, many of our lakes were down 12' or more. Now Lake Grapevine is 5' above normal. I'm certainly saving on my water bill!

We just spent a fortune on a sprinkler system for our yard and I don't think it has run once since we had it installed over a month and a half ago. :(

Can't. Guess they figured the system needed to be smarter than me and they put a rain guage on it that cuts it out. They put the damn thing way up on the roof so I can't even "By-pass" it.

Pellet gun!!!! :D

I didn't know them rain gauge thangies worked?? My widow lady neighbor is hardly ever at home when her sprinkler system goes off. It goes off on Mondays - twice - whether it's rainin' or not. Most of her sprinkler heads have been chewed up by the lawn service idjits, so we have Mt. Vesuvius every Monday morning just about the time the paw-print gang goes out for their morning stroll and sniff. Can you say 'shower frolicin' fun'???? I guess I should be a good neighbor and go fix 'em for her, butt I hate for her to have to go and redo her will!!! ;) :D

In that case, you should slip out there and fix them anonymously. Won't get you in the will, but maybe St. Peter will have a nice note in his book about you when you see him (it could never hurt)! :yeah:

OK, I confess. I have washed my bike about 6 times this year. Which is about 5 times more than last year! My peeps were giving me krap about the grundge, and black looks so much better when it's clean!

We've had 19.41 inches here in the backyard since March 26th. Seems like more than we got all last year.

Hehehe... Our neighbor had one of those Old Faithful sprinkler heads... Of course no one noticed it early Saturday AM... It drained into a portion of our yard on the dog trot path by the fence. Even seen how muddy 2 GSDs can get in about 20 minutes?

Alrighty John, buddy, pal, fren. You've got to step away from the washbucket. We got three inches of rain today at la casa. I was coming home tonight in an absolute prodigious downpour, stopped at a light in Sattler and hear this beep. I looked over and this lady was running her index finger around her ear in a circle. I agreed with her. It was a crazy amount of water coming down. I hit 306 and the sun came out. It's still shining. Nutsoid, I tell ya.

We got just a leetle taste of what you got this afternoon. I wuz heading to the casa, on the motorbike, and about a mile out, decided to see if the post office wanted to sell any stamps. Parked ole Toad; strolled inside and stood in line long enough to say, fuggedaboutit - strolled out; sat in the saddle to put the gear back on and somebody tumped over a lake full of water on us. Rained like ..... on a flat rock and since I wuz already soaked, just motored on home and slid in the garage. Dang near got ole Toad all clean in just a mile!!!! Wish I'da stayed in line tho, cuz the envelope in my pocket, and it's innards, got soaked on the way home - mesh jackets let the rain in!!!! Duh!! :( All that for only a quarter inch of the stuff!!!
