A friend just got custom molded ear buds and bought an interconnect that looks like that - works perfect,

I made on for my Autocomm system so the kids can listen to radio. IF you can get a blank plug for the J&M end, you can make them for a dollar or two a piece, materials. I made 3 for about $5, I think. Places like allelctronics.com have all sorts of plug ends.
I bought a 3 into one 3.5 mm splitter with 3 female ends and cut the male end off, giving me three female cords, about 3" long. Soldered the DIN plugs onto that and they work great. Use regular lower cord. I keep one in my oddments box for when the kids ride.
