I was leaving for Nashville today to join a reunion of one of my old Army units, Casper Aviation Platoon, HHC, 173rd ABN., however the departure has been delayed waiting for a part for the LT. Had it in for the 20 K and annual service. The good news was everything went well and the valves were in spec, the bad news one of the spark plug wires is broken to the point it could fall off the plug during the trip. There is no spark plug wire in ON., they are waiting for one to be flown in from Vancouver, should be here by noon. I suppose I should be happy it does not have to come in from Germany. The good news it it is under warranty and I don't have to pay the air courier fee. Open Road knows I am waiting for the fix to leave so will do it as soon as it comes in. I know planning the 20 K inspection just prior to a trip is not a good idea, however when I went in 3 weeks ago to schedule the inspection and everything involved yesterday was the only day open and I didn't want to delay the service till I got back.
Looking forward to the trip, taking a side trip through the tail of the dragon, either on the way or on the way back, depending on my time when I go by there.
