I have a 2006 LT with 6000 miles. When I fuel up and zero the trip meters and try to zero the BC for MPG readouts first it shows 16MPG then if I let go and push the BC again it shows 32MPG but jumps back to 16. It never reads zero MPG with a full tank and zeroed trip meters. Should it ?? Is this standard ?

Thanks to everyone for their combined knowledge, just lookin' for answers.

My bike is a much older 99' so I don't know if the equipment is even similar but mine does zero out or rather gives me a blank screen with dashes. The newer models may have some different equipment for the BC.

Sorry I can not be of more help

It will never read zero. I never reset my MPG, I let it build a long term average.

try to zero the BC for MPG readouts first it shows 16MPG <snip> Should it ?? Is this standard ?My 2005 resets to 16MPG. I have found the computer to be very accurate in it's number at the end of each tank. I stopped calculating it some time ago and now rely on the computer. I reset at each fill up.

If I reset the MPG with the motor not started, it will reset to 200mpg; if the motor is running, but the bike is not moving, it will reset to 16mpg.
