Its time for this clam to go home.

I am planning on taking my Cleveland Native wife for a visit to back home this August.

Plannning on Cleveland OH to Maine in mid August I have never been on a road trip for more than a few-4 days. Any tips and advice for a First time 10 days road trip would be greatly appreciated. Plan on going through Most of New England (wont be able to cover everything, "Relatives." ) Plan on staying in W. paris Maine for a few nights. I know New England well just not as well as I used too.

Things I may need or do to the bike before the trip

Thanks again to everyone here in Advance.

Someone tell me where the bridge or ferry is that takes me too Rhode Island?

Gotta stop at the "Silver Grille a.k.a. "Hot Dog Annie's" in Click Here (http://www.thepulsemag.com/Dining/hotdog.html) Leicester MA. Great BBQ hot dogs! I grew up down the street from this roadside stand and spent my summers at Wellfleet on the Cape.

I remember digging for clams when the tide was out!

Thanks Pmitchell. That is just roughly north of where Rte. 12 becomes 56?
About 45 mins from where my mom lives in NE Ct. I think.

My wife and I drove from Maine down to Essex Mass on a RTE. I was on my '05 K12, and she drove her new '07 Yamaha Vstar 1100 Custom. I am a true Maine native, and these were hands down, the best fried clams that I have EVER had.

I am in Lewiston ME, 40 minutes from the W. Paris area. Some awesome rides up to your north. Sunday River, over to 16 in NH, and down through the notches by Mt Washington.

Lobster is cheap in Portland, about 6-7 bucks a pound. Cheaper than steak! (closer to ship I guess :) )

let me know if you want contact information.

If you are anywhere near Eustis, ME - I would recommend this place
Porter House
1060 Route 27
Eustis, ME 04936
(207) 246-7932

Belly up to the bar in their "Pub" section, otherwise you'll probably need a reservation. This was the best food I had on my 14 day 6k mile ride last year.

Great roads in this area too!

Bar Harbor & Cadillac mountain well worth seeing and there is a great bargain on lobster dinners that can be had at the little eatery on the right at the bridge to the island.
