Has anyone had the experience on an LT of going from a Remus muffler back to the original without changing the chip? If so, how did the bike perform? :histerica

Hi Greg,

Just curious why you want to switch back? If it is the louder sound, have you considered adding the 4" insert as discussed on this site? I too have a Remus (no chip) and thought about trying the 4" pipe fix, but it would not fit all the way inside the existing extension. I may trim it a bit and see how it sounds first. Just a thought....

I don't know what chip you have, but if you have the rhinewest for the remus and want to go back stock, they will swap you out for $100.

I went back from Remus to stock without problems, but I never had any special chip in the first place...:p No noticeable change in performance. just less noise.

Big relief for my ears (even with earplugs on) and besides, it was easier to duplicate the OEM muffler for tool box use anyway.

Now I have an extra Remus with both sport and street cans available if anyone is interested...

What's it supposed to do, make things quieter? Thanks for the tip.

I'm hoping the stock is a lot quieter without losing too much performance.

I was going to give it a try, but a 4" pipe won't fit in my Remus pipe. If you'll do a search, you'll find others who have tried this and seem satisfied with the results. May be worth a try first, before the task of the removal and install.

I did it to my Remus street can.
1.25 O.D. stainless tubing X 4" cuts the noise way down................

I'm new to a 05 Lt and may be interested in a used Remus exhaust system. As all I'm looking for more power and a little louder (Very little). I'm not leaning toward any chip installment, just exhaust. Please let me know the cost for the exhaust and getting to the USA.

Thanks

Gene

OK Gene, thanks for your interest. I will look up the freight issue, but that much I know already that the only reasonable way to ship it is by ocean freight. Air mailing would be a joint suicide.

Time wise ocean freight to USA is usually around four weeks although from USA usually at least six weeks. Must be that the packages float downwards (South) easier than upwards (North)...:p

Anyway if you are not in a terrible hurry I try to find answers to you and I will PM you my search results.'
