Hello, I brought a 05 K1200LT last Thursday and manage to but over 500 miles on the bike. I’m new to the site and very interested in many thread reference this bike. The bike’s have about 13K miles on it and I ‘m pretty sure the 12K miles service was not performed. Which, I’m scheduling to get done ASAP.

I’m interested in meeting other owner in my local area (Sanford, NC.), that may be able help me become more familiar with this bike.

I have read the provided owner’s manuals and becoming more familiar with this bike options. The bike is equipped with intercom system, minus head sets. There is one option I like to have remove and sell immediately. That is the trailer hitch and wiring.

Take care, and safe riding.

Welcome to the site and let me be the first to tell you, everyone is full of crap here. :histerica Seriously though, If you have a problem there are enough people that have been doing this long enough that any one of them could help you with your problems. Just do a little digging and you can find any of your problems answers.

Good luck and welcome

Spend time reading the HOW and FAQ's located under the TECHNICAL link at the top of the page and then read the posts from here. Best info you can find and more help than the dealers.

Welcome to the site!!
Thanks for filling out your profile, it helps everyone get to know each other..
Place your trailer hitch and wiring in the classifieds and it'll be gone in a day, if priced reasonably.
Give me a shout if you ride out the to Rockies, I've got plenty of secret stashes of sweet mountain twisties for you to check out.

Welcome to the site. I'm up in Mount Airy, quite a way off, but we do a lot of work for a Sanford comapny, The Pantry. Small world in some regards. Which dealer is closest, Capital in Raleigh or Carolina in GSO? Richard at Carolina has been good about telling me the things I can do myself and save a few bucks here and there.

If the 12K was done at a dlr, any dealer should have a record of it in the computer system. As well as any other things done by a dealer.

Have fun with it. Let me know if you;re ever headed this way....

Welcome. This is the place to come for information on anything about the LT and maybe some info on things you’d rather not known too:histerica. Make sure you check out the FAQ and the Hall of Wisdom (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/faq.php?faq=bmwlt_net_faq#faq_k1200lt_faq). The ride is on.

Gene,

I've been visiting this site for about one year now and I'm still amazed at the good info one can glean from this site. It's the only one like it that I've ever come accross.

Just keep coming back and read as many posts as you can. The info may not be a problem solver for you right now but you'll already be aware should you incur a similar problem.

Don't forget to RIDE. It puts a smile on my face EVERY day! :bmw:

Before you know it, you'll be passing on info to the next new LT rider here.

I know about The Panty, I apply for a System/Network Administrator position with them a while back. Capital in Raleigh, is closer to my location and I when there Friday. I'm trying to contact them now to coordinate my 12K service.

Congrats on your purchase. I am not that far from you and if you need any help ( I may not be much, but will try) let me know. I have had my Lt for about 2 months now and love it. The only issue has been the seat. If you find the seat is an issue for you as well let me know before you start spending money. I have a bead rider and spare seat. If you would like to try out the bead rider before you by one let me know. The wife and I spent memorial day weekend out on Oak Island and took 421 all the way back. You may want to run out on 421 one weekend to get the feel of the bike. It is a real nice ride to start with.
Take care and have fun.
