My buddy, Al, who rides a new K1200R and an R1150RT invited me to go on a ride to raise money for the Armed Forces Foundation. They use these funds to help families of wounded military with expenses. Al's daughter is the POI of the AFF. We left Sykesville, MD and rode to the Bethesda Naval Hospital. There were about 198 bikes, mostly HDs and GWs with some Victories, sport bikes and even six or so BMWs. A Ural with sidecar even showed up! Even a wild Boss Hoss made an appperance! We were met by several wounded marines and sailors who were in the various stages of recovery.

I would be lying if I told you that my old eyes didn't tear-up when we met these valiant young people who so willing put themselves in harm's way. They had big smiles on their faces as they checked out all the bikes. Even asked my friend, Al, who had his K1200R "Wazzat???"

My Fathers Day gift to myself.
