Since our friend Wolfgang took a raincheck last time we tried to organize something to welcome him back to h-town, we'll now do it ohfishually and with plenty of notice.

Mark your calendar's and show up!

Sat. July 14th starting 'round noon and lasting until the last one leaves. I'll provide the place (backyard), some mean (smoked) meat, patates salad, drinks. You'll supply the body(yours) (preferably with SO) , friendly face, a healthy appetite, and some grins? Deal?

Just let me know who's coming so that I can plan the meat, water, cervesia,

Since I don't want to answer that over and over again:

here is the list of things we'd like you to bring:

Body (yours)
Appetite(healthy)
Grin(on your face)
Time (plenty)

on a second thought: If some of you come with your cages, bring a few camping chairs. I have only so many.

I need to start preparing my new boss that I have to get time off to attend an emergency meeting of several hundered like minded riders. :)

But he is an old friend, and rides as well, so it should be easy. Just like to nail down the departure and return dates.

You don't know where to go? How come? I find home every day, and now I have to tell you?

Oh, well, thats very easy. Here you go:

The address, for the folks with GPS's

1110 Tigris Ln.
Houston, TX

But even without GPS, it's very easy to find:

From I45

I45 to the FM1960 exit. Turn west. About 1 mile to Nanes (traffic light). Right on Nanes. All the way to the end of Nanes. Turn left, third house on the right.

From 290:

Exit to FM1960/Highway 6. Turn left under the freeway. About 12 miles to Nanes. Turn left onto Nanes. Nanes to the end, turn left, third house on the right.

A couple of electrical gremlins. Alternator warning, center stand does not deploy reliably, CC does not engage, and a couple more. All electrical. But with all that rain lately AND with us having our granddaughter again, and hence me HAVING to use the cage more often it wasn't THAT bad. But if the rain subsides they better have it fixed!

Dick and I were talking about meeting at the *$$'s in New Braunfels off of Walnut on Saturday for those that want to ride with us.

I've been thinking about it. It's a horrible spot to get out of, very dangerous and you add New Braunsfels drivers and tourists it can be a nightmare. Right on top of a light and you have to traverse three lanes of traffic to get to the turnaround. It will be lucky for two bikes to get out.

So, as an alternative, I'm thinking the Exxxon on FM306 and IH 35. Gas up, go potty and have some truck stop kkkkkaffee, or whatever you want. It's kind of a truck stop, so they have some hot food, too. The bus leaves at 8 ayem for those that want to rocket to Chouston.

Hey Grif,

This is Houston, after all....that's what we do...watch the rain chances go up. From what I am hearing it's not supposed to be a bike washer till tomorrow night...but then that came from a weatherman.

Wish I got paid as well for being wrong as often as a weatherman.

Oh and by the way, I heard on the news that I-10 will be closed west of Hwy 6 both directions tomorrow. So...as if I need to say it...avoid the slab.

It was great to see Wolfgang again. I didn't realize how much I missed him and Emily until I gazed apongst his ugly mug. Welcome back and this time, take your shoes off and stay a spell.

Andy and Lanette, I'm still not hungry. What a feed. I think that potato salad is prolly the best I ever inhaled. Care to share the recipe? Your grandaughter is adorable and lovable.

Great ride home, I got 42 mpg going out and 40 going back. Uhhh, wonder why?

Hey Jerry, I took Cat Springs road. I forgot how fun it was. I laid into the first "S" and almost didn't make it. Wallered like a she pig with makeup in heat and the front end started to tuck. Forgot I had the ESA set to comfort for them teeth chatterereseseseses. A couple pushes of the button and the second part of the "S" and the rest of them sweepers I claimed total dominion over.

I stopped at the Honda store, couldn't stand that smell in my helmet anymore. I think a month of being wet isn't good for them. Also, my riding suit came to life and tried to eat me. I fought that sucker to submission, ripped out the armor, douched it down with spray and wash and it's screaming it's newly found lungs out in the clean machine. I have this strange rash and... uh, nevermind. If my Suzy homemaker attempts fail miserably, I'm burning the whole lot on a fire ant pile and buying new. Sheesh, the thangs a boy has to do.

I used to to talk about dying and going to hell. I now know that Hwy 1960 in the rain is so there.

Hey, didj'alls detector sound off today?? I saw two DPS the whole day (one ran off into a ditch on IH-10!!) and one wuz having a session with a nice young lady - in the rain!! My detector stayed pretty much quiet on both runs. Course, there ain't no reason for 'em to run on 1960 - what a cluster. Ole Blue Truck did get a suspension workout on 36 and 159 - I think we're 'bout 150K overdue for shocks!!

Andy, great hosting by you and Lanette and ?Taylor Rita? I coulda loaded up a doggie bag full of that potato salad, butt y'all only have kitty bags!!! :histerica Great stuff. Thanks for getting us all together. Really enjoy hangin' with Wolfgang - guy hasn't changed in the 5 or 6 years I've known him!! (Well, maybe like me, he's having to buy bigger belts!!! ;) ).

(Well, maybe like me, he's having to buy bigger belts!!! ;) ).

Thanks again, Andy.Nope Both of mine where quiet all day mainly 'couse they are not in Sammies car :histerica but we did talk about getting her one ;)

Well, the Debster and I made it back to SA just moments ago. We haven't been to H-town in 9 months and ended up having events stacked on one another all weekend. Whew!

Grif is right--that tator salad was the best. I enjoyed gettting facetime with y'all muy mucho, even that boot boogieing short skirted Grifster. It is good to have Wolfgang back in the states especially if'n I need to pick out and service a new Mercedes. I've seen his places before and it'll be top rung.

Again, good to see everyone. Thanks Lanette and Andy for the gracious opening of the casa. Deb and I had a great time with everyone.

First a big thanks to Andy and especially Lanette for hosting and cooking. How was the food? :D I ate about twice of what I should have.

Several of my friends in other place have asked me why I am drawn back to Texas. My answer: "It's the people, stupid" It does not seem to matter were one is from originally, once in Texas they all become friendly and put even casual friends first.

To ride (or drive) several hours in the rain, and to commit precious weekend time is remarkable.

I am looking forward to ride with you guys again and seeing several of you at CCR. (Dick, you should really attend)

Thanks again!!

I think that potato salad is prolly the best I ever inhaled. Care to share the recipe?

Sure, no problem. Lanette said it's very easy. Not that I know how to do that. See, we have a contract: Lanette does not dabble into my servers, and I don't dabble into her kitchen.

Your grandaughter is adorable and lovable.

Yeah, *sigh* as long as you only have her for a few hours. After that is become pretty clear what her mom and dad did NOT teach her. But we are working on that.

We really had a great time, even though you guys didn't eat much. But hey that way some of these smoked brats were for me! Me loves smoked brats!
