radio wiring harness 2006 R12RT and a power question

Hi guys, I want to get 12v of switched power from the golve box harness (I have no radio installed but I want to hook up an Ipod to my new mini amp that I got from MH Instruments)
I have identified the speaker females, no problem. I test two other females and I get power but it is not switched. I then hooked up my amp to the power and it wouldnt power up????
Then I blew a fuse so I am not going to try more risky stuff untill I tlak to you guys, Does anyone know how to get switched power from the wiring harness. If it is not switched that is OK I can install a remote cutoff but do you guys know which female to plug in to for hot and ground?

There is a BMW wiring setup that allows you to connect extra electrical stuff without screwing up the CANBUS set up. Use this to get your power, although I don't know if it will be switched or not.

wheen you say BMW wiring set up , do you mean through the dealer ? Do you know the part #?
