My local dealer has Nolan X-Lite X1002, the large was too tight on me so I was thinking about having them order me a XL, but I was thinking about going with the N102 instead...

So my questions are -
1) Is the fit of the X1002 and the N102 similar enough that I could get away with ordering a XL?

2) What makes the X1002 worth $100+ more? And is it worth it?

3) Any issues putting a Baehr headset in the N102? Any recommendations?

Thanks
Tim

I can't answer most of your questions but I wear a N102 and putting earphones in is a snap..........pop out two little pieces of foam and you're there..............

I first had the N100 XL and also the N41 open face XL
Now I have the N102 XL. They all fit the same and I installed the Auto-com in each helmet..
I think it should fit.
I had the same problem not being able to test drive the Nolan helmets in my town..
Took a leap of faith and ordered over the net and they all worked...
Good luck

Get the newest N102 style that is Communication capable (has a knock out in the Left side that is custom fit for the BMW style headsets). I got the XL and Nolan will send you smaller cheek pads on trade of your new returned pads. I have the XL helmet with the L pads for a custom fit.

I tried on the Nolan X1002 and N102 at BMW of Atlanta earlier this week. The do not fit the same. I can wear a L X1002 without discomfort. The L and XL were not comfortable and gave me hotspots. JM2CW

OBTW, it looked like and easy fit to put speakers for a comm unit in either helmet. :thumb:
