Hi, Clayton.

Auto-answer itself I think is pretty common nowadays - the big thing I had to chase down was whether or not the phone would let you know it picked up the call! Some phones do not ring through the headset jack, only the handset itself (which obviously, you'll never hear under the helmet)

If the caller knows you ride and/or thinks to just say hello, he'll show up in the headset as you would expect. If you like to sing along with the radio though, you could give a heck of a free show before you know someone's listening!!

My Kyocera KX2 does ring through the headset, and if I plug power into it also has a voice-activation system that will allow me to choose whether or not to answer, or dial out with no button pushing at all.

Hope it helps,

I think most phones nowadays have a hands free auto answer feature, such as you might desire if you are using a headset, which is essentially what you are doing when you plug it into the Comm or VOICE system. The challenge however, is finding one that also rings into the headset to alert you that you are getting a call, rather than discover it only after hearing the person who is calling yelling at you to get your attention, during which of course you have been caught singing or talking to yourself. :o SteveR on this board, as I'm sure do many others, has a Nextel phone that does this, a terrific feature in my opinion that my own phone does not have (a Motorola with Verizon).

I got the Motorola Razr V3 because of the auto answer facility and the fact it has Bluetooth, meaning no wires to the helmet when connected to Autocom or Starcom comms systems fitted with a Bluetooth dongle thingy. Having said that, I'm very disappointed in the Razr's (1) battery life (2) way it organises things (3) No video Etc. But, it is very thin and light although it's a little wider than my previous Samsung E810 slide phone (no auto answer or Bluetooth) I'm sure that most Nokia phones have an auto answer facility though.
I mentioned in an earlier post for those that have not seen it, the Starcom Bluetooth dongle fits the Autocom as well and might be cheaper, depending where you live.
Not tried this system yet, just got it all delivered, now off to the Milan motorcycle show in a few hours, will report back thursday/friday see how it all works.

has this auto answer. Mine does ring through the AutoCom. For those persons I have a voice dial with it first announces who is calling, rings twice then picks up the call.

I have a Motorolla v710 running through the Beahr com system and I can answer atlk hands free with no problem. Just had to buy the cell phone cable for it and plug it in. Took all of 10 seconds to hook up. Great com system.

Most Sonyericsson cell phones, at least on GSM, support auto-answer, voice dialing and ringing thru the headset.

I found LG and Samsung to NOT support auto-answer or ring on the headset.

I found LG and Samsung to NOT support auto-answer or ring on the headset. Just to note. My LG (can't find model # on it) supports auto-answer but not ring through headset. Annoying, but liveable. Since I keep it in the stingray box I don't have any visual clue either. The other annoying thing is no volume control. I have mine connected to the Baehr and the phone connection runs straight to the helmet so once the levels are set both on the phone and on the comm, there is no adjustment for strong or weak calls. I also can't hang up on anyone. Calls come through but I'm a captive audience until they hang up - not the best thing when you are trying to concentrate on traffic. Overall I still like the setup, but it definitely could be better. Might work on mounting the phone somewhere more accessible. That would help. Regards,

Auto answers and rings thru the headset if configured to do so. You just have to have an adapter to hook up to the standard pin connection.
