G'day Des
I've seen this stuff at places like local markets or at car / bike shows. It is a pretty much one rod welds all kinds IIRC. What do you want to use it for? If it's aluminium, maybe a workshop that does boat repairs, or if it's ordinary old mild steel, any workshop with a MIG or TIG setup should be able to help you there.

I need to strengthen the inside of my mirrors.
there is cracks forming around the plastic that surround the brass wires that clip over the knuckels on the side of the bike.
i dont know how much longer till i find out if my mirror teather works.
i went a googling (http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=jb+weld&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryNZ)and found i can buy it from New Zealand (http://www.industrysolutions.co.nz/).
I have sent these guys an email to see if i can get it shipped here, not sure if customs will jump up and down and have a cry about it and stop it getting thru or not.

G'day Dezrae,
BTDT......Have never actually seen "JB Weld" as such here in the shops but have used an alternate product, called "Kneed-it" (I think)....(I'll get the details tomorrow)
It is sold in about a 130mm long length, x 20mm diameter. cost probably around the $10...(memory again...???)
It is a 2 part dry product, where the inner core is one product and the outer sheath the other.
You just slice off a "disc" section with a knife, as much as you need, then squeeze the "disc" into a pliable mass. It is now like plastercine.
Form the plastercine mass into the shape/strengthening section you want and leave to go hard in about 10 minutes. You can smooth the mass with a wet finger prior to it going off, whereby it goes rock hard after "x" number of hours.
I have done the mirrors on Beryl Beemer with this stuff, you can grind/shape off bits you don't want with a Dremel tool.
cheers

Aha, not all memory cells have deserted me...there are some still running around in there...........(keep running...puff puff.....keep running!!!)
The product is made by Selleys, called "knead-It" (ok I spelt it wrong originally) it is a multipurpose two part polymer product, and available at your local Selleys handyman bar in a Selleys cafe near you!
It says wear gloves when mixing/squeezing together....doh!
ok,...dip a gloved hand in a container of water to smooth out product before setting hard....rather than using your tongue....(errrrrrr)
